Captain Bayonet Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Check out my new LDD Red coat fort. First an overview of the fort Now for a close-up of the tower The custom canons I made for this Fort I hope you all like it. Comments and Critiscism would be GREATLY appreciated as this is my first attempt at an Imperial Fort Oh, and good luck to anyone participating in ToR II, love your entry, Commodore Hornbricker Hilarious Quote
Ye Olde Pirate Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) You did a good job. The colors look good and the design is creative. The only other thing is that this should be posted in the Pirate Mocs subform. Edited June 24, 2010 by Ye Olde Pirate Quote
Captain Bayonet Posted June 24, 2010 Author Posted June 24, 2010 Why Thank you "Ye Olde Pirate". like the colour scheme as well. (My favorite part is the Tower) What did you think of my canon design? Sadly, LU mode in LDD still has no cannons Quote
Artifex Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 I think it looks great. I think you just exagerated a bit on the number of cannons. Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) Thanks I like how you used the same style as the Soldier's Fort set. It looks like it would fit in well. I can't tell what piece or pieces you used in your cannon base. Do you build only in LDD or do you build in bricks as well. Edited June 24, 2010 by Commodore Hornbricker Quote
squiz Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Yeah i think it looks good. Adding one of these would certainly beef up the current soldiers fort sets defences ! One comment is its very white ! might be nice to mix the colours up a bit. Quote

I can't really think of any thing you good do to improve them considering in LDD you just have to work with what they have on there. To be honest, they also look like they could be used in a WWI MOC as a machine gun from that period. Quote

But sadly my camera is broken and I have not had time to repair it. I have plenty of real MOCs currently, but am not avle to photograph them As to what pieces I used for the canon, will have to check the LXF file to be sure, but I know for the base I used one of the KK2 wrist armor pieces Quote
AndyC Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Sadly, LU mode in LDD still has no cannons Yes it does, they're under the technic rubber tipped dart icon thingy (the one after the minifig category), both the base and cannon are there. Nice fort btw, though it could maybe do with some more colour to break it up a bit I think. Quote

Thanks "AndyC" I think it looks great. I think you just exagerated a bit on the number of cannons. I wanted it to look like that. It scares away the pirates I happen to not want in my fort Yes that's right me and certain pirates are buddies:pir-devil: Quote
Tycho McKorley Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 I think this is a great start, but I'd really like to see a brick-built version of it later. Also, way to go for aligning yourself with the redcoats. Quote
Kerntechniker Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Hi, it looks great, but I miss the General Office, the cantina, the stable and some other things which belong to a Fortress. Why is it build on arcs? Quote
TheCrimsonTrooper Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 I hope you all like it. Comments and Critiscism would be GREATLY appreciated as this is my first attempt at an Imperial Fort It is a very good first attempt, and it looks nice. I knew Tycho Mckorley was fellow Redcoat simply disgiused in blue wizard robes. Quote
Derfel Cadarn Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Your off to a good start and it looks like it will fit well with the official sets. Hope to see it made in the brick sometime Quote
