Andeh Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Here are my Daleks. My new Daleks are quite similar but with different gun sticks and they are white. I'm yet to take the pictures. Quote
CarrollFilms Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 These are super, my Dalek is bad...I think i'll make a Dalek con (Master Dalek) this should be fun, but i'll have to find a minifig, hmm... Quote
hewkii9 Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Here are my Daleks. They're a bit old, and I have a New Dalek [red and lickable!] in the works. Also, I built the Dalek Emperora long time ago. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Old old old MOC taken with a camera on a phone about three years ago. Quote
Batbrick Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Here are my Daleks. Ecxuse me, but those are very eerily similar to my Daleks I made early last year: I find it hard to believe there isn't a form of influence there, unless yours were made earlier? But given you've even got the same 'arms' attached the same way, I'm a little suspicious. Batbrick. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Batbrick, there are only a few ways to build a minifig scaled Dalek. They are not some abstract concept, they are a known object and have source material. Thus if someone decides on building a minifigure scaled one there are only a handful of variations, as you mentioned he only built it with one of those parts and a 1x1 cone not a lever. Heck, the only reason mine is any different is because I have nothing against using bluetak to stick lego to other lego in ways that are impossible. Oh, and the broken torch/blaster I was able to use as an eyestalk. So please lets not turn this into a rather pointless argument about idea stealing. Quote
Andeh Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Excuse me, but those are very eerily similar to my Daleks I made early last year: *insert picture here* I find it hard to believe there isn't a form of influence there, unless yours were made earlier? But given you've even got the same 'arms' attached the same way, I'm a little suspicious. Batbrick. Those daleks are extremely similar to mine but I haven't seen them before. Although our daleks are pretty similar, this is the first time that I have seen yours. I got the idea of the arms from the legs of a robot I saw on Mocpages. I would not be suprised if someone else made a dalek similar to our designs either; like what Peppermint said about the lack of ways to build a minifig scaled Dalek. And Im pretty sure Ive seen people use the 1 x 3 wedge pieces and 1 x 2 plate on the front for a dalek. - Andy Quote

Fair enough, I believe you, great minds think alike then Just wanted to hear your word on it mate. It was mostly the arm bit that I was interested in. Looking forward to seeing any other Doctor Who designs you come up with it you make them Peppermint M: Don't worry, I wasn't trying to turn this into a pointless argument, but I can see how you thought that since my post was quite jerk-ish. I meant to change it last night but I ended up having to go out last night. So Sorry about that. Also, I know how a lot of people try to make Davros, yet find it hard without making the base too absurdly large. Here's my compromise, I'm actually really happy with it given the near impossibility of having a base consistent with the other Daleks: Batbrick Away! Quote
Andeh Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 (edited) Hmm, there is definately something wrong with us, our designs for Davros are also so similar. This is quite an old picture, my current Davros has the exact same base design with the globes on 4 sides. The only difference is the Davros figure, the controls and the chair. This is quite an old picture, my current Davros has the exact same base design with the globes on 4 sides. The only difference is the Davros figure, the controls and the chair. Uncanny, especially since my Davros is an old picture too, he currently has the Darth Vader head. Mind you, I also added a cut-down trans-blue 1x1 round piece on his head for his robotic eye, and I've also updated my Dalek design to be absolutely SUPERIOR! Anyway, my very first Dalek design: And, Supreme Dalek - "THE VAULT WILL BE PURGED!" Batbrick Away! Quote
Andeh Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 My new Dalek Supreme. I borrowed the idea of the gun sticks from ProjectGregory with his permission of course. Quote
BrickAvon Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 I made this a few years ago sorry about the LEGO Galidor fig Quote
kill will Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Wow! It took me a while to realise that it was even lego! Quote
Oddibossity Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Well, I've already posted this in another thread, but since this is a more 'official' thread, I thought I'd put mine in anyway! The only gripe I have with this is that I know I will never be able to make it exactly as I have designed it. I built it in Universe mode and used many 'cheat' colours on unusual pieces. I also have a sneaking suspicion that some of the pieces (namely the gold supports around the head) will not actually fit properly in real life... Enjoy!
