Brickdoctor Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Eurobricks-exclusive premier of my first Castle MOC! Well, I decided to do something other than Star Wars for a change, and a Castle/Star Wars meld seemed like a good way to ease into a new genre. Being among the King's best longbowman is known to have backfired rather drastically. Consider this an expression of my belief that Star Wars still reigns King. (no pun intended) C&C welcome. Quote
prateek Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Great scene, and that flex tube effect is great! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 21, 2010 Author Posted June 21, 2010 Great scene, and that flex tube effect is great! Thanks. The flex tubes work with crossbows and muskets, too. Quote
prateek Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Thanks. The flex tubes work with crossbows and muskets, too. I suspect they would work with any two-handed weapon Quote
LuxorV Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Indeed, great job on this unexpected take on Castle I must say I also like the base very much, with the lightsaber enbedded in it. Do you plane on making more of these? Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Good one 'Brickdoctor', great custom arms for the archer ! The moral of the story is - never upset a Wookiee ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
BlueBard Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Nice work with those arms, and of course really funny idea! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 21, 2010 Author Posted June 21, 2010 I suspect they would work with any two-handed weapon Spears, halberds, anything with room for two hands. Indeed, great job on this unexpected take on Castle I must say I also like the base very much, with the lightsaber enbedded in it. Do you plane on making more of these? I forgot to take a pic of the other side of the base; there's a sword on that side. I may make more, I may not. Quote
Artifex Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 It looked so natural I almost missed it! Great effect there with the flex tube! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Yet another unconventional yet very effective technique 'brickdoctor'!. I simply love those flex tube arms, the pose is really natural and realistic. Great job once again. Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 That's a great way of making a shooting archer And of course the wookiee is also very funny, I hope that he doesn't get into the pirate world though...seems quite dangerous Good job anyway! Quote
General Redwater Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Nice MOC! The scene looks great, and I never thought of putting the arrow pouch on a minifigs waist. Good idea. The flex tube looks good too, I just think it looks a bit thin to be a minifigs arm. Great job! - General Redwater Quote
Tycho McKorley Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 The flexible tubing is ingenious. Nice work. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 The flex tube effect seems to be rather popular. Thanks, guys! Quote
Blackicep8ntball Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Wow great little vig! Never thought of using a Wookie in quite that way and the arrow pouch on the waist, as others have mentioned, is rather ingenious. May I ask what inspired you to put this together? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 26, 2010 Author Posted June 26, 2010 May I ask what inspired you to put this together? Mostly the fact that all the kiddies on MOCpages are so awestruck that LEGO listened to their pleas and released a super-awsum-robin-hod minifigure in the collectible minifigure collection, and I was planning on showing off all the awesome poses an original Forestman can have. I just am too lazy to make a true post on MOCpages. Quote
Legostein Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Hello! Nicely humorous scene! "Enraged Wookie sighted in Sharewood Forest!" would be a nice wanted poster pinned on a tree if the brave forestmen had seen a Wookie before. Great little setup! Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote

Batbrick Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Great little setup and I love the fun use of the Wookie here. The base is my favourite part though, looking very clean, having a lightsabre and yet somehow still looking appropriate in a Castle creation! Batbrick Away! Quote
