DarthSion Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Well if they supposed to be out Jan 10 its only 2 months away so hopefully we will see something soon, and hopefully it will be a proper one, leave motors to mindstorm where they belong. Quote
Big Cam Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Why does the rumoured exclusvie AT-AT set have to include something new. An AT-AT without Power Functions would suffice for me, as long as it had a new torso for General Veers. You do realize you just contradicted yourself. I think people including you expect new things because they don't see a reason to releas the exact same model with no changes, and in reality that makes sense. Car manufacturers don't produce the same car for 40 years without giving it a redesign, they need to keep it fresh and as new technologies (or new LEGO parts) become available, it makes sense to update the old. Zzz Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 (edited) Right, the old one is a bit outdated... Little joke here. Hope you don't mind. No seriously, the 4483 is one of the best SW sets, mine stands proud on my desk since 6 years and the head never felt off. If there is a new one, it will be a bit bigger with way more parts, something like 2000+ , not in the 150Euro area. Anyway, after watching Empire the other day, I find it frightening that TLC changed the Hoth trooper so many times, and it is still far away from how it should look like. Should have white body, white arms, grey hands and a long coat like Tatooine Luke, grey boots. And a white helmet, not tan. It is not white nor tan nor grey in the movie, but I think white looks good, just like the Snowspeeder colour is a compromise from light grey, that isn't common for TLC. An AT-AT with an awesome troop hold would be great although it may have some problems, like all of them do. The first one: some problems like its head falling off and the legs didn't look that strong either. The 2nd one: had its whole backside full of PF functional motors and battery boxes. Inconspicuous Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 I just found this on the internet: I'm pretty darn sure it's made by a fan, but it can give us an idea of what the dreaded printed visor would look like. Thoughts? Quote

Thoughts? Nice find Inconspicuous Yes im sure thats a fan made one, though it does have the same kinda of finish as the new AT-AT pilot from the BP does. Thats my thoughts... CommanderFox Quote
Forresto Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Since i'm not going to buy the ARC-170 I was'nt too fussed about a printed visor. Now after seeing this example of how it possibly could look, I wish I was going to buy the ARC-170. Quote
RileyC Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 I didnt know that the new clone pilots were going to look like that. I didnt really consider how they would do the face but after seeing that I really hope thats not what it really looks like. Quote

Darth Legolas Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 (edited) Sebulba would disagree. I wasn't quite thinking like that. I mean, a frog, a cat, all of those are one piece. But maybe I meant to say these days... And we really do need some new podracer sets! Sebulba would be at least two pieces now, same with Aldar beedo. But back then anything could fly with Lego! I comletely used the wrong word, I don't know what I was thinking. I didn't mean to say single. I just meant a larger mold like the Tuan Tuan, two or 3 pieces is fine, as long as it's bigger than a regular minifig. Of course. That makes perfect sense. But why would Lego make it small sized anyway? It's supposed to be halfway between a human and a Rancor! (Don't quote me on that!) Relax, that's only a destroyed stormtrooper helmet with a ep. III clone torso and blue arms and legs... EDIT: I wrote helmet two times It does seem to be an accurate version of what a very rough sketch of the helmet would be. But you could possibly think of it as the new AT-AT pilot helmet with a hole in the middle with a face and goggles. Edited November 7, 2009 by Darth Legolas Quote

Corvus Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Maybe the Wampa will be similar to the Crystal King from Power Miners. Ugh, I hope not. Way too big. Well, I'm fairly sure he meant 'new' as in new figs, etc- especially with the new AT-AT pilot helmet we've seen. The main reason of course, are to update it to give us incentive to buy something new. Since it's been almost 9 years since the non-motorized AT-AT came out, so I'm sure some of us would love to see a more accurately built, non-motorized, non-tecnic version. However, I'm not sure what the kids who own the motorized version would have to say to a static model... Quote

Now after seeing this example of how it possibly could look, I wish I was going to buy the ARC-170. You realize now most people don't want a printed visor... I personally don't care, seeing as I'm not getting the ship, but this is how the helmet is meant to look: It really should be a thin orange visor outside. Or at least, everything around the face should be thinner so it doesn't seem to bulge arou7nd it. Yea but it give us a visualization on how it may look like. I thought they were just a bit a trans orange so you could see the face through it. But you could still be right, as it's completely unconfirmed. Quote
Eskallon Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 I am kinda disapointed with what has been anounced so far, the only thing I like the sound of is the Wampa Attack. I hope they don't add in a printed Visor figure as to be honest it looks terrible on that broken figure and just as bad on the action figure. Quote
danielwerner Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 This is what the wampa looks like in the game, so it will probably look something like that. :) Quote
Darth Legolas Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 This is what the wampa looks like in the game, so it will probably look something like that. :) Lego generally changes the characters a lot from the video games when new pieces come out. Look at almost all of the Clone Wars characters, the Grievous Guards, for example. This does provide some good general insight though. That body, Taun-Taun horns, maybe some different arms, and we've got our wampa. Quote
Oky Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 (edited) I could imagine that the Wampa will look pretty much like this, but with a new mold for the head. This is almost exactly what I think the new pilots will look like, except that I don't think they will be in the CW-style since the set is (loosely) based on Ep3. Lego generally changes the characters a lot from the video games when new pieces come out. Look at almost all of the Clone Wars characters, the Grievous Guards, for example. That's not a very good example IMO. The Magna Guards in the game were made out of pieces that already existed at the time, whereas the wampa is a completely new piece. Therefore it's likely it will look something like that. I hope that the feathers on the head of the Talz warrior are removable so that you can use the head for other Talz figs that are not from that tribe. Edited November 8, 2009 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
Commander Assassin Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 (edited) This is what the wampa looks like in the game, so it will probably look something like that. :) It might not end up looking a thing like it did in the game though. Do you remember Kit Fisto? EDIT: sorry, didn't see Legolas' post! Edited November 8, 2009 by Clone Commander Assassin Quote
JCC1004 Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 I hope that the feathers on the head of the Talz warrior are removable so that you can use the head for other Talz figs that are not from that tribe. They could as be Muftak. The one that was seen in the Cantina. As for the wampa, a new mold would be nice. The Adventurers yeti seems to be a decent size for figs. A wampa with similar measurements would be nice. Quote
starwarsfanatic Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Since it's been almost 9 years since the non-motorized AT-AT came out What?! The non-motorised came out six years ago! Quote
Oky Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 They could as be Muftak. The one that was seen in the Cantina. Yeah, or Foul Moudama. Anyway, looking at this Atlantis set, I noticed it has a new cockpit piece. Does anyone think this could be the same piece used in the rumored Grievous starfighter? It would look accurate, but would open upward instead of forward. Then again, I wouldn't expect TLG to use the same sliding mechanism as in the old one. Quote
Inconspicuous Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I wouldn't want it for the Starfighter, but it could work. I think the old one is just fine. However, I could see it being used as the cockpit for the Freeco bike. I would prefer the same mechanism as the old Starfighter, but it could also work. Interesting point. Quote

But it's just a drawing. I think that cockpit would be better. It wouldn't need the mechanism as the other. It looks more like the actual cockpit. Quote
Corvus Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I'd assume that the Talz will be the same as Chewie. What?! The non-motorised came out six years ago! Whoa.... that's interesting. Looks like it came out in 2003. That's....yeah, six years. Looks like I was off by two years. Thanks for the correction. Quote
CommanderFox Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I suspected the Talz would be like Chewie. That Wampa from the Lego game looks like a nice size! I hope they do a printed face, not have it all white like the yeti. CommanderFox Quote
