Darth Legolas Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 what makes it so you can believe him? seriously, maybe someone hacked his account, many things coulda happened Sorry, I was just joking. I don't mean it personally, when I rub things in people's faces. It's all part of my rep! But do you know for sure what the size of the AT-AT is and have you seen pictures? As in, what information do you have on the AT-AT? Quote
Forresto Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Sorry, I was just joking. I don't mean it personally, when I rub things in people's faces. It's all part of my rep! But do you know for sure what the size of the AT-AT is and have you seen pictures? As in, what information do you have on the AT-AT? Nope no one knows how large the At-At is going to be if there is one anyways. I still think it's going to turn out the lego rep meant the CTT. Quote
YG-49 Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 This new rumour for an AT-AT sounds fascinating. Two AT-ATs in two years?! That is great IMO! Generally I agree with the figures simonjedi suggested, but I would think there would be a few Snowies. Maybe five or six, which sounds good for a Minifigure Scale version. But two Grievous Starfighters in two years isn't good enough? Or is it one year? Well, it'll be two years when it's released in 2010. Quote
DarthSion Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Personally I don't care what the size, even a mini AT-AT would be cool, so long as its a proper lego set, not a technic in disguise like the motorised one was. Quote
KimT Posted September 19, 2009 Author Posted September 19, 2009 Personally I don't care what the size, even a mini AT-AT would be cool, so long as its a proper lego set, not a technic in disguise like the motorised one was. And I couldn't agree more. Though I'd personally prefer a midi-scale since I've already got three of the old one and one motorized. On a side note: Please refrain from turning this into a discussion on who's the most believable or not. A lot of people are reliable sources, but that doesn't mean they can't be wrong from time to time. Can we keep this solely devoted to speculation and discussion on rumored sets? Quote
DarthSion Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Yeah I will be happy with what ever the CTT and AT-AT are so long as they are not motorised, UCS, normal, mid scale, mini so long as it looks good and isn't over priced. Cue the complainers/arguers, but the recent Hoth mission footage it would be mad if the AT-AT had the sith stalker starkiller, side opening panel on the body of the AT-AT and a small snow speeder. Ya know, it'd also be mad if the TIE Pilot in the Defender was Marek, cause it looks like him in armor, but it's not gonna happen is it?! Quote
DarthSion Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 If I had the money I would make it happen, buy a snow speeder, mod an AT-AT and then give starkiller vaders mask and paint him green. Yeah but he hasn't been seen in either of those things, he is actually in an AT-AT. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Ok now i was chating to Xwingyoda on MSN the night he had seen the lego rep. He told me both of these sets were minifig sets. Not UCS but here is hoping and in no way midi-scale!! Thank you very much for this information, mutley777! So if the rep wasn't mixing up something we finally get a minifig-scaled AT-AT. Klaus-Dieter Quote
RileyC Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 (edited) its good that all this AT AT business has finally been cleared up. Im glad its not a midi scale, although it would be nice to see what it looks like I would rather have minifig scale Thanks for clearing it up mutley777 Edited September 20, 2009 by Roncanator Quote
KimT Posted September 19, 2009 Author Posted September 19, 2009 You'd rather have a Millenium Falcon scale? There's mini, midi, system and UCS. I've never heard of minifig scale when it comes to sets TLG designed. Do you guys even grasp the idea of how big an AT-AT should be for it to be scaled with minifigs? And since we're not fully confirmed on the scale, I'll personally leave the door open for both midi and system scale. Quote

I've never heard of minifig scale when it comes to sets TLG designed. Do you guys even grasp the idea of how big an AT-AT should be for it to be scaled with minifigs? Haha MF scale It would make an awesome AT-AT if it were truly minifig scale! ...and skyhigh priced. And since we're not fully confirmed on the scale, I'll personally leave the door open for both midi and system scale. Wishfull thinking No just kidding I agree, no picture means no confirmation even if the source is reliable. Quote
DarthSion Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 No idea how big it would have to be for mini figure scale, i also have no idea how to get into bed with Lucy Pinder, but a guys got to hope. Quote
Tinn-man Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Actually, with an approximated scale and some rough math equations, an AT-AT that is to scale with a minifigure should be about 2.46 feet high and 2.18 feet long. That's pretty big, but remember: the UCS MF (millenium falcon) is 2.75 feet long and 1.83 feet wide. So, with these dimensions, a scaled, UCS AT-AT is not out of the question, but it would be expensive (at least $400-500 USD). See, kids? Math is cool! Quote
Darth Legolas Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Nope no one knows how large the At-At is going to be if there is one anyways. I still think it's going to turn out the lego rep meant the CTT. I was talking to Rockinkurt in particular, because of his information on the sets right before the pictures came out, which turned out to be correct. So, even though KimT is right that we shouldn't go with the most believable argument, i wasn't really asking you... But two Grievous Starfighters in two years isn't good enough? Or is it one year? Well, it'll be two years when it's released in 2010. 3 years, in 2010. The first was in '07. Ya know, it'd also be mad if the TIE Pilot in the Defender was Marek, cause it looks like him in armor, but it's not gonna happen is it?! Can we stop talking about TFU? Save that for the wishlist topic please. There could be at least one more TFU set, but it's not gonna be anything that would make big bucks, like the AT-AT. But this is all so utterly pointless to me. I still have my suspicion, and I'd really like Xwingyoda to come back on the site to make one little post about the AT-AT. I mean, it's really hard to get confused with the CTT, even though they both have T's, I'm sure the salespeople have pictures or some sort of information showing one has giant wheels and the other has giant legs! The Who Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 I've never heard of minifig scale when it comes to sets TLG designed. The closest a large vehicle in an official set has ever come to being 100% Minifig Scale was the UCS Falcon. Quote
Millacol88 Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 The closest a large vehicle in an official set has ever come to being 100% Minifig Scale was the UCS Falcon. And it's my belief that the AT-AT will be of similar scale. Look at the past three years : 2007 - Falcon (USD 500 dollars), 2008 - Death Star (USD 500 dollars), 2009 - Dropship and AT-OT (USD 250 dollars). So I don't think a hugely expensive, true minifigure scale AT-AT is out of the question. Quote
Penitent Tangent Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 AT-AT's are huge. I can't even find a decent picture to demonstrate that fact.. but yeah. Perhaps a USC one, yes, but a mini-fig scale one is not happening. Quote
Forresto Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 To disbuke all debate about it being "impossible" or not possible that Lego could make a minifigure scale AT-AT just look at this moc one Mocpages.com. Link sure it might not be too exact scale but you can do a lot with it and get it pretty dang close to scale. Even if the actual set was only two thirds thes size of this moc I would be happy. This MOC is important in showing that you can make a cool AT-At to minifigure scale size. Now i'm not saying Lego is going to make an AT-AT this size, they might they might not, i'm just showing this for scale so people can see a visual. Quote

That still would be a little big for LEGO, but hey, the UCS AT-ST must have been round that height. Good example though Forresto. Quote
ILikePi Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 (edited) I've found a picture of the Tri-Fighter and the Snowtroopers Battle Pack, thanks to Black Rabbit (for posting the link to the photostream in the Power Miners 2010 thread)! It's not confidential or anything, so I'll deeplink it: The person who took the picture said that there's a new helmet for the grey minifigure (probably an Imperial officer)! Derek Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 All of those sets in that picture look great, especially the Tri-Droid! I don't see why nobody likes it! Thanks a lot! Quote
Skipper 24 Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 ...The person who took the picture said that there's a new helmet for the grey minifigure (probably an Imperial officer)! ... I think the helmet is just in light grey instead of the usual dark. Quote
