blhc11 Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 My reply is probably gonna sound ignorant, mainly because I am ignorant but that isn't important, I would have to say either making molds from actual parts and modifying the molds afterwords, making the custom part connect properly. Also another way would possibly be tampering with official parts to obtain what you want. Sorry if this doesn't help you, mainly because I never went too deep with making custom parts except for a batman cowl that I slightly modified, also I suggested making molds of official parts and then changing them becuase that way the custom pieces would connect and it would possibly simplify the work(I like to make molds of some veichles when I have the time and the patience but I never did it with lego so I'm not very knoledgable in that area), the only other thing I can suggest would possibly be using sculpey ot make the pieces(by molds I ment thoose pieces that are crafted and then used to make the actual things, in this case pieces, not molding like when you get something like clay and you construct something but molding like making pieces into which you can por a liquid material that will solidify after heating). Cheers. By- The ADHD kid extraordinare. P.s: if you want to learn how to make molds there's a site called indymogul(a website for film fans and filmmakers) that has a series about diy special fx and props, being one of the videos in the series a tutorial on how to make breakaway bottles with sugarglass, if I recall correctly, there's a part in that video that teaches you how to make the mold for the sugarglass bottle, I hope this helped, if you have any further qestions then ask away, it's always a pleasure to help other LEGO intusiasts. Oh... I just noticed there is a slight possibility I miss-understood the topic, if you want ideas for custom parts that you should make and not ideas on how to make custom parts then sorry for my idiotic post . Thunedar Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 I've been dying to get my hands on some mohawks. I'm talking Bright Red/Orange mohawks that Slayers typically wear. Heck even a color that currently matches the Dwarf orang-ish beards in the LEGO fantasy line. Referencing Warhammer Fantasy, a good example to look up is Gotrek. Quote
