J4ke Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Photoset Another mech, but the last for a long time, that's for sure. I love the feet on this, but I overbulked at the top with the cockpit in front and the rockets on the back. It started out as a spaceship too... How things change. Comments welcomed. Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Nice one 'J4ke' - I really like the feet on this - nice and solid ! The neon orange chain-saw blades are what offensive or defensive weapons ? Nice big cannons on it's shoulders and the neon orange cockpit - retro 1970's eh ? I'm a conformist! ! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 What a BIG and BULKY mech! And HUGE rockets too. Compared to other mechs, this one looks very strong and resilient. The choice of the trans-orange cockpit and other parts are also nice, it can be used to distract enemies because it's glaring to the eyes. Quote
LuxorV Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Interesting MOC, J4ke. I like how you managed to keep the IcePlanet2000 colour scheme and the saw blades on the front are a very iconic piece from that theme. Oddly, it looks a bit like an AT-ST with the Republic Gunship engine things mounted on its back Quote
J4ke Posted June 18, 2010 Author Posted June 18, 2010 lol, thanks for the comments. Yeah, IP2K scheme rocks. The saws on the front aren't for attacking or defending, because IP2K is all about a cold war with Spyrius, well-known fact. :P They're for cutting through ice. Luxor, I see what you mean about the LAAT engines on there, ahaha. It was going to have three rockets on the back, but it messed way too much with the balance, so I just added two. Quote
ProducePrincess Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 I like the classic design of the mechs cockpit .Even though you used new bricks and tecniques that we didn't have it still has that classic feel. I'd make the legs wider and more armoured , their length is perfect. Quote
SNobleJr Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 (edited) Neat mech; makes sense that the Ice Planet crew would have something like this for very rough terrain that a sled or truck would have trouble navigating. I like how it's chunky, but not an outright brick (pun not intended) - it has enough angles and even some curves to keep it interesting. And nice use of the 2x2 plates with pin sockets in the lights/sensors/whatever on the sides. Also, maybe a loader arm on the back for handling the rockets would be a good idea? Apollo Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 The rocket pods pay a wonderful homage to Ice Planet's beloved play feature But that is a fraction of how awesome I think this mech is. Beastly! Quote
TheCrimsonTrooper Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Nice mech, I think the Iceplanet theme really adds to its coolness (conotatively and denotatively). Quote
