Balrog Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Hi everybody, my name is Florian (27) and I am from Germany. I joined here, because this seemed the best place for me to find ideas and perhaps share some of my creations. I just recently got back again interested in Lego and it seems my dark age has finally really ended. Currently most of my interest goes into Lego Star Wars and Lego Technic. Though I am just getting myself some of the cool sets over the time. Mostly I am again experimenting a bit with Lego Technic as my time allows it, mostly for mechanisms. But as it seems my skills with Technic have crumpled a bit and there are so many new pieces available. Models are currently built in a whole different way than when I was up to date. Anyway, I am currently trying to get a NXT off the net and perhaps that will teach me a lot of new things. Regarding the Star Wars theme, I hope to build some smaller MoCs soon as I am lacking the amount of parts in one color or even the new colors. But I guess that is enough about what I want to do in the near future. My history might be a bit more interesting. I played a lot with Lego when I was a kid and started pretty early with it. I then had phases where I liked some themes the most. At a time it was City and I build a lot around that. Then it was space, followed by knights and pirates and then some technic, again space and then again technic. I have (like 10 or 11 years ago) rebuilt all my space models and put them into a display. The same is with my pirates sets, but they were put together before. The pirate sets where even never merged with the rest of my Lego. My dark age began with me being about 17 or 18. At this time I completely stopped playing with Lego. Though noticing, that there was Star Wars Lego and being interested in it, I couldn't afford it at that time (and to be honest, the old sets where pretty ugly). Then about me being 22, I got again interested in Lego and I got myself the set with Anakins Jedi Starfighter. Up until now I got myself several of the starfighters. The most recent set was the current X-Wing (the most interesing set for me to date. And right now I am waiting for the Tie Defender to be delivered plus the Lego Star Wars Book. And because I really am doing something with Lego and not just collecting some Sets and putting them into display, I would say, that my dark age has finally ended. But only time will tell. This should be enough for now. Thank you for reading. If you have any questions, please let me know ;) Cheers. Quote

Mr. Elijah Timms Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 I know what you mean about rotating from one theme to another. I've been thinking about it lately, and trying to decide if I am officially no longer a SW guy. Been into Pirates and have really become a City regular. Either way, welcome and don't be a stranger. Look forward to seeing your creations :) Quote
Big Cam Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Welcome aboard! To me LEGO SW was like agateway drug back into all LEGO. I swore, I'd just buy SW Lego from then on, and that failed miserably, so now I dabble in many themes. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Welcome to EB Balrog! Great to hear you've come out of your dark ages, and what a nice way to come out by joining Eurobricks! I'm sure you'll enjoy the forums here, especially in the SW forums where many SW fans like you join together. Hope to see your creations too. Quote
