redarmor21 Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Hi everyone, I'm Ralph from the Philippines and I've recently revived my hobby to collect Lego. I'm also planning to turn my hobby into a small business because Lego prices here in the Philippines is 2 to 3 times higher than the US or EU prices. I hope to get some good advice from you guys and gals! Have a nice day! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Hi Ralph! Kumusta? Welcome to EB, I'm also from the Philippines, member here since last year and also your fellow-Philippine Brickster. Yeah I must agree that LEGO prices in our country are way way more expensive compared to other countries. That's why I don't buy LEGO sets in our local stores, but rather, I buy my sets from bricklink and ebay because they are much cheaper. Anyway, let's not get further into LEGO price discussions. Once again, welcome and enjoy everything here in EB. Quote
Raven Brickroft Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Hehe~ Another 2nd hand reseller. Welcome to EB! Quote
arthur2001 Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 I am in Angeles City, Pampanga. No Lego for sale here. I've been to Manila a few times. Toys R Us has the best selection, followed by SM Dept Store (better than the Toy Kingdom they own downstairs), both at SM Megamall. Toys R Us at Robinson's Place Manila has a fair selection. Toys R Us at Ortigas had a good selection. Shangri-La has some Lego, and there was a big exhibit the last time I was there, but nothing special. In January I went to Hong Kong. There is lots more Lego there, but still not all that much, and more expensive than in the USA. Toys R Us near the Star Ferry at Kowloon had the best selection, but other TRU stores there had some different items. There are some private resellers. Wing On department store had some Lego. I'm interested in regular Lego, Technics, and Mindstorms NXT. I have a couple of the NXT sets. Shangri-La wanted 3X USA prices for the NXT. Ha ha. Alexan Electronics has the 2.0 version of the NXT. They also have the book LM NXT Hacker's Guide, which is, sadly, the worst NXT book I have ever seen. Two of the three posters above have private e-mail addresses, so I can't contact you. Quote
