Tom Bricks Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 A ship lands in the barren wastelands. A quiet wine comes from the center and from the top emerges a single droid. No time has passed for him along the long journey but time has passed. He knows nothing of his creation, nothing of the harsh battles that have torn this world apart, nothing of the crazed man that commissioned his invention, nothing of life in this world. He only knows he has been awoken, and waits for the orders he will never receive. Looking around he endless nothing. Something clicks within the tiny robot, and he hops away. Out in the wasteland he comes across plant, he doesn’t know why but he recognizes this object. He, almost unwillingly stomps on it and then, ashamed he has carried out his mission, hops away. Something shines in the nothingness and he hops toward it. It is a thin circular object that reflects light from a source he cannot see. The sight hypnotizes him and he gazes into the coin, for the first time seeing his reflection. On his leg he sees the numbers, (30162). He knows now that he has a name. To be continued.... Quote
BrickClick Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 (edited) Nice story Tom Bricks! And good idea on using four of the sucurity camera things to make the stand in the first pic! The robot is also nicely designed! Can't wait to see more! Edited June 9, 2010 by BrickClick Quote

Do the binoculars stay on well? Quote
Tom Bricks Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 Thanks guys, not sure if there really will be more, it might be really open ended. This reminds me of that lamp, but I can't remember what company it's from... Do the binoculars stay on well? Probably PIXAR? I was thinking it did after i built it. I binoculars are held on with a hand, which makes them much sturdier than when it was just the other two. Quote
ProducePrincess Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 I like that tiny 3 piece robot , it has the same kind of cuteness as an M8 or R-Bot. The security camera idea i never thought of before , i might use it in something later on. Quote
LuxorV Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Ingenious build, Tom Bricks, and nice story. In the first pic, before reading the story, I thought the robot had a bulky body, with lots of openings for a number of different limbs Quote

Thanks, I was going for that cute factor, The security camera thing is hard to use though as the studs are closer than usual so a regular plate doesn't fit over them In the first pic, before reading the story, I thought the robot had a bulky body, with lots of openings for a number of different limbs Now that you mention it .... XimenaPaulina Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 That has got to be lowest-piece MOC I have ever seen. Only 3 parts! yet very recognizable as a cute little robot, great job on that one 'Tom Bricks'. And very good story-telling skills too! Quote
user Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 A pretty nice little series thingy I don't know if I'd call it a story. The robot is pretty cool in a simplistic kinda style. Very clever name by the way. Quote
