I posted some time ago, a "mini-review" of the 7996 double-crossover switch, which is yet to be linked in the overview. The reasons for posting it inside the train talk thread (try saying that fast :-P) are stated in my post, but seeing as it has relevant information for anyone hesitating to buy one, they should read it, and therefore should have its own link.

Edit; D'oh! It's 7996, not 7997.
