jonfett Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 I decided to create a vignette based on my Helms Deep creations for the Classic Castle Battle contest. My vignette, however, is a 48x48 stud creation! Check out the pics in the gallery when moderated here. But for now a few deeplinks... http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonfett/...test/image1.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonfett/...test/image9.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonfett/...est/image28.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonfett/...est/image32.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonfett/...est/image33.jpg Enjoy! The Hordesman Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 "These are no ordinary orcs, these are Uruk-Hai!" *knight* Wow, its great. My only complaint is that I dont like the grilled helmet, while everything is very accurate to the movie, the grilled helmets are not. They fit perfect for a book version (they can just about look as any helmet) I would prefer a barbute (shadow knight) helmet instead for a movie version... But I believe this is something in-between. ;-) Still, it rocks, the water is really cool too! *sweet* Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 I loved your previous Helms Deep so I was destined to love this one, and I do really love it *wub* ;-) What a tiny vig Jon, are you working on Microscale ?? X-D :-P I love the breached wall setting for this fierce battle scene !! I think those grilled helmets really work well, especially with Darth Maul's head ;-) I wish you luck for the contest Jon !! Hope you win it !! *yoda* Quote
Peoples_General Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 AWESOME! I like how you made the Uruk-Hai swords. Quote
Vader Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 As usual Jon you have created a moc of beauty *sweet* Quote
Sir Dillon Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Gee, that's an quite a 'vignette' you've made. ;-) I really like your entry. I think it might look more like the actual battle if you had made it a little smaller, and pushed the figs closer together, to give a more crowded look, but if you did that, you wouldn't have been able to add some of the detail you did, so I peronally like it more the way you did it... I'm not sure if I'm making any sense or not. *wacko* Anyways, good luke in the contest. :-) Quote
jonfett Posted March 30, 2006 Author Posted March 30, 2006 Yeah I understand you Dillon. I wanted to create the effect you described but I wanted them spread out enough to see all the action, then I couldn't fit anymore on. I suppose there are a few ways I could have made it look more "action" but never mind now, as I have entered it. Thanks for all the kind words though guys! Jon. Quote
