Dear Editor, I know what your thinking, how did I survive when thousands around me died? Well it wasn't easy and to be frank I didn't know how I managed to survive the biggest invasion in the history of human conflict. Here are some of the photos of the men that I went into Omaha with...

I took this photo of two men bleeding to death. As you can tell one of them was a medic. No one was spared this day.

I rushed ahead with camera in hand as I took photos of the events going in front of me. Where was the damn tanks I asked myself as I looked through my camera at the blood and guts around me. I heard screams, men crying in pain as they lay one on top of another in piles somehow. We lost so many here and yet more came. It was a slaughter house, there was the ocean to our back and the deadly wall of bullets spraying across the almost open beach. As I was taking this photo someone collided into me and my focus got messed up in a way.

The man in front of me got shot twice in the head, the blood splattered across the beach mixed with others like him as he fell. I took four hits, three to the arm and one grazing my ear. I spent most of my time on the ground taking photos until I blacked out. I soon woke up feeling as if I cheated death for a reason. What the reason was still eludes me however the photos enclosed here should be published as soon as possible. If I could tell my grandchildren one story of this horrible war it would be how I survived D-Day with just a camera.

Comments and Suggestions welcomed...

I kind of did this story on the spot, so my grammer might be off in some parts, but I believe this is one of my almost best short stories yet.

Oh, wow... I love a MOC that tells a story. And when the MOC itself is great- well- it's a good experience. Great story. Great MOC.

I like the way you turned this MOC into a medium to tell the story of such a terrible and fundamental day in our History.

The 'running' shot is particoularly interesting.

Thanks for sharing, Daniel Williams.
