Randal Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 (edited) I was messing around with Lego Space pieces I don't normally use and have never had in a set. I really like the metallic green with the red. If you want the .lxf I can post it here. I may redo this so that the commander is on more of a platform than in a command pod. Let me know what you think. I may make the five occupants a different color so they're more visible. It will another muted color though. Edited May 31, 2010 by Randal Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Very retro and very good design - really like to see actually brick built ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Forresto Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Tis is pretty nice! I love the whole conecept and I think it came out very nice. The only thing I think that looks a little strange is the slight squareness of the cockpit but that's unavoidable BTW what piece did you use for the bottom? Quote
Randal Posted June 4, 2010 Author Posted June 4, 2010 Tis is pretty nice! I love the whole conecept and I think it came out very nice. The only thing I think that looks a little strange is the slight squareness of the cockpit but that's unavoidable BTW what piece did you use for the bottom? I looked for sets that might have the piece on brickset so that I could get a part number from peeron, but I couldn't find one. so I made the image below and then obscenely sharpened it to enhance contrast. I think I over did it with the sharpen tool... oh well. It's not for a comic. I'm also including the LXF so you can look at it in LDD. The parts were made available by activating LDD's Lego Universe mode. Anyone at Eurobricks can get this mode by following the instructions found in the LDD forum. The little red piece that goes on top is off to the side in the lxf because of a glitch in LDD that deletes bricks that are connected that way, even though they are legal connections. Green Saucer LXF Quote
LuxorV Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I like your saucer, Randal. It's a bit odd with the very high cockpit, but it's a nice kind of odd Quote
Randal Posted June 5, 2010 Author Posted June 5, 2010 I like your saucer, Randal. It's a bit odd with the very high cockpit, but it's a nice kind of odd I made it ridiculously huge on purpose. I wanted it to have a campy feel to it. Sort of Mars Attacks meets that alien from the simpsons who's in every one of their Halloween Specials. Quote
charlieboy Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 As I said before im no big fan of LDD but your design is seriously making me have a rethink! I love the ship, it looks so right and would be something else to see in real life. I nearly bought some of those glass domes last week on ebay, wish I had now! Also love the way the one alien chap sits higher than the rest, has a very cartoony feel to it Quote
squidman85 Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Very cool.I very like the space-retro style. Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 I love how cartoony it is, but it doesn't look green to me. (Is it Sand green?) Quote
Randal Posted June 18, 2010 Author Posted June 18, 2010 It is a very muted green. Like metallic moss or something. I finally featured this MOC in Brick. I like yesterday's comic better, but this one isn't bad. Quote
TheCrimsonTrooper Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Nice work. Could you explain the legs in the hull, that struck me as odd that the legs would be there. Quote
CMP Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Nice work. Could you explain the legs in the hull, that struck me as odd that the legs would be there. Those are the aliens' legs. Great classic model dude. Quote
