The Renegades designed the Microfighter as a multipurpose platform. It is so compact that some battle cruisers use the chassis as escape pods. While the Microfighter is quite possibly the smallest manned military space vessel, it is not the cheapest. The pilot is fully enclosed in Kinzanite armor with only digital readouts to view, giving him superior protection as opposed to a Duraglass windscreen. It has a solid state reactor (technology stolen from the Skullz) and two tracking duel particle drivers. The Renegades have decided to elect the Microfighter as their standard fighter and have thus rerouted all manufacturing towards producing it. The Microfighter pilot must use numbers and their small size to overwhelm their opponents.

Its own weapons are its weakness; particle drivers were necessitated because of the low energy drain they impose on an already overburdened reactor. The Microfighter is small, fast and deadly but as it fires its particle drivers its trajectory as greatly effected, especially in space combat.

cool. that's small enough to use as the head of a mech.

I know it's to be as is, I've seen some of your other skull stuff

well, back to comic-ing... I'm supposed to have a new "Brick" up in 2 hours

Good point, I was also thinking of some other uses for this frame, Tank came to mind but really it'd be good for a lot of things. Check out the cross section to see how I made it so small.

Interesting LDD job 'Rayskull' very compact, but I would say it's weapons are not strong and flight range small too !

Still COOL - I'm a conformist! ! :sweet:

I first put studs there and then erased them after he was already sitting there.

I've been thinking of adding really big engines to it, or wings like a tie fighter.

Cute little modular front end/cockpit. In this form it could be used in many ways(escape pod, fighter cockpit,APC front end and simmilar thingys). If you will redesign it, (with wings and bigger engine-as you said yourself) then it will loose its modularity and will be specific role only.

Have to say that whilst im no fan of this LDD malarky, that really is a fantastic little ship! The side open view is really good, may even have to build a real one as im that impressed!

Excellent design sir

Nice MOC, but I think its too small to be effective as a standard fighter. It's primary role should be as an escape pod or scout. Also, I think it should be slightly longer- right now, you don't have any room for an engine.

BTW, am I the only one who thinks this ship looks kind of like a whale? Anyways, I like this MOC, a nice change--of-pace from the giant vessels we normally see.

That's because all you see is raw png snapshots of wireframe skins. I take those and dress them up in a photo editor and they end up looking like the minifig in my sig.

Nope, its because i'd rather build in real life and not on a computer lol! I appreciate the time and effort put in but no picture can beat the real thing.

Much better with those wings :classic:
