AllanSmith Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I drive past this house all the time. It has a broken down truck, car and plane in the front yard. It is so unusual to find a plane in a front yard instead of at the airport. It inspired me to build my first ever plane MOC. Enjoy Quote
prateek Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Awesome plane! It looks just like the real one. Coincidentally, today in Toronto, a Cessna crashed and two people died Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 (edited) Now that's an AWESOME yet simple to make MOC 'Allan' - colours spot on for a Cessna too ! I'm a conformist! ! Quick edit - sad news from Toronto though - prays etc., to the families who have lost their loved ones. Edited May 26, 2010 by lightningtiger Quote
Capt. Stabbin Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Nice job, looks like a smaller version of the 3178 seaplane. Keep up the good work! Quote
AllanSmith Posted May 26, 2010 Author Posted May 26, 2010 Nice job, looks like a smaller version of the 3178 seaplane. Keep up the good work! It uses parts from 3178. It is a similar size. Wingspan is 4 studs wider but plane length is 4 studs shorter.Awesome plane! It looks just like the real one. Coincidentally, today in Toronto, a Cessna crashed and two people died It was a Cirrus SR-20 which has a low wing. Still sad news. Quote
Davey Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Great work! You MOC really captures the look of the Cessna 150/152 that is in that front yard. I also like your approach to the wing lift struts. I haven't seen that technique before. Is that tile just held in place by friction and the weight of the wing? -Davey Quote

Is that tile just held in place by friction and the weight of the wing?Yes the 6 x 1 tile fits between a groove in the 1 x 2 grill above the wheel and a 1 x 2 plate under the wing. It puts slight pressure on the wing as seen by the bow in the wing. Look at photo below Quote
ipeon Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 i did my own variation of it the cessna 208 Quote
AllanSmith Posted October 26, 2017 Author Posted October 26, 2017 Hi. Your version looks good. I am now into the Speed Champions sets so am building lots of vehicles to go with that theme. Quote
