J4ke Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Photoset I wanted to try out a skyfighter, and several attempts later, this is what i came up with. At first it had engines mounted on each wing, then one on front, and somehow it ended up with one virtually under the cockpit. Things happen. Comments welcomed. Quote
Randal Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Oooh. I like this a lot. it has a nice retro feel to it. Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 AWESOME design - very retro looking indeed ! I really like where the engine is mounted also the cannons too - SWEET ! Great work 'J4ke' and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
M'Kyuun Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 (edited) That's a neat little bird. I like the coutouring on the fuselage...nice retro vibe going on there. The red and tan offset very well, and the tan is used just enough. Cool! After taking a second look, a version with the tail booms connected to the wings,a la the P-38, would make a nice variant. i love the P-38, though, so I'm biased. Edited May 25, 2010 by M'Kyuun Quote
Fires-storm Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Yeah I love the look of this fighter absolutely, its so perfect, and the color scheme is very nice as well! good work mate, good work indeed! Quote
Rook Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 I'm digging the nose. Not a fan of the studs on the tail. Quote
J4ke Posted May 27, 2010 Author Posted May 27, 2010 Thanks all for your comments! Looks like this was a hit, which is odd, given that I'm not overly fond of it personally. Quote

Retro will probably always be a hit. It has a lot of fans. edit: I wonder if this is why I'm doing all my current mocs in Burgundy and Gold... Though this is red, not burgundy. Toa_Of_Justice Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 (edited) This is an awesome MOC, J4ke. I especially like the design of the tail and the propeller, as well as the use of Throwbot heads. By the way, here is the correct link to this MOC's Flickr set: Click here. -Toa Of Justice Edited May 31, 2010 by Toa_Of_Justice Quote
J4ke Posted May 31, 2010 Author Posted May 31, 2010 Ugh, broken link. Thanks for the heads-up. And yeah, the Slizer heads (even though the tan ones are from the technic battle droid) were on my list of parts to use. Glad you like it. Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 That is a great looking fighter . Gives me ideas of fighters I would like to make. Quote
