reptile_smile Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 (edited) Okay, so I have this mental image of a set I never actually looked too much into, and now i'm dying to know what set it is. It's been bugging me for ages. From what I remember, the catalog was from 1995, but I couldn't find the set when searching online for a catalog from that year. The pictures were crammed together, as if to fit almost with eachother, and I remember there was a Paradisa set on the left side. It was either this or ^ most likely this cause i was drooling so badly over it, hahahaha, but I'm not completely sure, cause I only remember that "upper" floor on the Paradisa set. Anyway, on the right side of the catalog, was this set I am looking for. It was a bridge, and I believe a truck going over it. It had this "foresty" feel over it. Jungle even. I don't remember if there was a cottage aswell, I just remembert that bridge cause I liked it so much. It could be in the catalogs from 1995 - 1997/98 I think. (that royal knight castle was from 1995 right? cause I think that was featured in the catalog, but I'm not sure. There was also a DUPLO set featured early on in the catalog. It was a "house" of sorts, and there was a zoo in Duplo aswell I believe. Anyone who knows what this bridge/forest-ish set might be? Edited May 24, 2010 by reptile_smile Quote
Alywin Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 (edited) If you are sure it is a town set, then it could be 6490, Amazon Crossing. Not many town sets have a bridge which a car can go over it, as far as I know, and 6490 was indeed released in 1997. Hope it helps! Edited May 24, 2010 by Alywin Quote
ZO6 Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 The set that Alywin has posted seems to fit your description quite well. However, some other sets that are similar include: 6552 Rocky River Retreat 6563 Gator Landing Quote
reptile_smile Posted May 24, 2010 Author Posted May 24, 2010 Ah right, thanks guys! I guessed it was part of the Lego Town, as couldn't think of any other sets, haha. BUT it was Gator Landing, I'm almost positive it was that. That plane struck something in me so I'm guessing it was that. (though in my head it was a bridge between two "rocks" in a way.) However, the Rocky River retreat actually looked more interesting! Quote
Alywin Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 (edited) yes yes yes! You thought it was more likely to include 6416 than 6418, and there was a car going OVER a bridge... It seems your memory is really fading... By the way, the catalogue page is hilarious... A crocodile is breaking through the fence to sneak into the Paradisa swimming area!!!! And on the bridge, I am not sure if the cowboy is saving or pushing the girl down... Edited May 25, 2010 by Alywin Quote
reptile_smile Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 hahaha yeh, though to my defense, I was only 8 at the time. Must have been conjuring up fake memories, lmao! But yeh, there was a lot going on in that picture, hehehe! (that guy trying to push the gator back doesn't seem too panicky considering there's people swimming there, lol!) Quote
Rapseflaps Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 [shameless plug]If you want to know more about that set, why not go here?[/shameless plug] (or here) And it is indeed a great set. Although that Rocky River Retreat doen's look too shabby either. I miss the Outdoors theme... Quote
