MCNwakeboard Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 (edited) I've been working on a modular bank (I've only got the first floor so far) and I am looking for ideas for floor design and other suggestions before I start on the second level. I'm trying to get it to blend in with other Lego modulars and will probably use large brown double doors for the entrance. All the blue legos in the building are the regular blue. Please leave comments and suggestions. Thanks! Check out pics on Flickr UPDATE WITH NEW PICTURES Edited December 23, 2010 by MCNwakeboard Quote
prateek Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 I'm liking this a lot! I love the detailing at the top, and the 45 degree wall is nice too. I can't wait for the rest Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Interesting design, very well done so far 'MCNwakeboard', once you have finished with LDD you could make it for real eh ? I'm a conformist! ! Quote
MCNwakeboard Posted October 2, 2010 Author Posted October 2, 2010 Updated Photo with semi finished bank. Quote
sens1992 Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Nice work so far MCNwakeboard! I really like your bank! Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Very nice. I would love to see that in real bricks. Quote
Big Cam Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Very cool, it fits very well with the modular line. I'd love to see it in real Lego. Quote
prateek Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Great bank! Tell me, are all the bricks you used real bricks?? Quote
MCNwakeboard Posted October 2, 2010 Author Posted October 2, 2010 (edited) Great bank! Tell me, are all the bricks you used real bricks?? I'm not sure what you mean by real bricks. The model was designed in LDD with available Lego bricks, but I have not actually built it with physical bricks. I'll be sure to post it if I ever do buy the set. I'm kind of waiting to see what the next modular set it, so I don't end up with two banks. Edited October 2, 2010 by MCNwakeboard Quote

MCNwakeboard Posted October 3, 2010 Author Posted October 3, 2010 can you send me the ldd file? Let me know if you figure out something for the roof to give it a finished look. Quote
gotoAndLego Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 I like the use of the octagonal part and the hinge pieces, but were you able to get them even so it looks like a continuation of the same kind of architectural detail? Quote
MCNwakeboard Posted October 4, 2010 Author Posted October 4, 2010 were you able to get them even so it looks like a continuation of the same kind of architectural detail? Somewhat. From what I can see in LDD, the detail is even and appears flush, but I had to use slants and curves to achieve it, so there are cheese bricks and rounded pieces combined. I would have preferred only rounded bricks, but I could not get anything to flow with the angle I was working with. There are also some spots where the blue "morter" look is not continuous because of the angle. I'll post some pictures later with a better view of the front. Quote
MCNwakeboard Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 (edited) You can kind of see what I mean about the cheese bricks and rounded bricks in this picture. Edited December 23, 2010 by MCNwakeboard Quote
freeedrik Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Thats a really cool bank I like all the details, i think it would stand well with the official cc-buildings Quote
Dutch Bricker Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 This is a really great design! I would love the LDD-file, if you'd please. Quote
