captaintau Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 There's been various ideas as to future Lego licences, like Batman (oh, hang on, they're doing that ;-) ), Star Trek, Halo, etc. How about Red Dwarf. I know it doesn't have the vast appeal of SW or Batman, but it does have a very dedicated following. Who wouldn't want a giant red USC Red Dwarf or a system scale Starbug with Lister and Cat minifigs. The playsets or scenes they could produce: skutters, roving Holly, Blue Midget, Legion's dining area, the Nova 5, the Mutton Vindaloo Monster, the Enlightenment, Cassandra, Pete scene (with existing LEGO dinosaurs). Starwars4J Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Well, I've never heard of Red Dwarf, but then again I'm sure a great part of the world never heard about Avatar before they decided to license it, so I guess anything's possible <_< Quote
Vader Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 I think you said it best yourself Cap "I know it doesn't have the vast appeal of SW or Batman" and thats the major problem, lego wouldnt touch Red Dwarf because even though its a great series its not that well known worldwide and not to mention that there hasnt been a new series of the show for a few years now. Oh by the way there are some custom RD sets on brickshelf including some custom figs. Quote
The Hordesman Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Ive never seen Red Dwarf, but Ive heard alot about it. I think its one of the last things Lego would ever do, but I do encourage you to do Red Dwarf MOCs. ;-) Quote
Vader Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Yep indeed i would love to see more MOC'S from the series. Quote
snefroe Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 never heard of red dwarf, but i may build a UCS smurf one day... Quote
JoshW Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Red Dwarf sets would be awesome but I highly doubt it would ever happen. Guess you'll just have to build MOCs instead. *sweet* Josh Quote
