Mercenary Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 We get a new fire line each year it seems, with 2 fire stations out at the same time! Only one fire set was likeable to me, the fire chopper. (forgot its name. ) But...... I don't like the looks of two fire stations being out at the same time. Other then that, Lego needs to make a fire line likeable to all of us. I'm much pleased that i have the fire brigade though. The fire brigade is a great set. The new fire station is not that great in my mind. The stations garages are on opposite sides, and the bricks are kinda too basic. Just not what I'd expect due to Legos great quality. Post your thoughts about the fire line here. Quote
prateek Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 (edited) I'm sorry but IMO, this topic is redundant. You could talk about this in the City 2010 topic. Edited May 9, 2010 by prateek Quote
Ricecracker Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 A few things to start with: a) Historically, fire sets are released every three years, not every year. b) So far, we don't know of any fire sets that are being released next year. c) The two sets you are talking about are from entirely different series, and are aimed at entirely different audiences. The Fire Brigade is a set from the modular buildings series, with only about two released every year. They're aimed at an age group of 16+, which you most likely fall into. They are built with more advanced techniques to accomplish better detailing and accuracy. The Fire Station is designed for kids aged 5-12, who care much less about accuracy, and much more about playability. That's exactly what the set is designed for: playability. From what I know*, the sets go through many design stages with the target age group, who then help determine what is best. They associate red with fire, so that's the reason the station is red, etc. *There was an article regarding the station in The Brick Magazine. Quote
