Corvus Posted March 11, 2011 Author Posted March 11, 2011 Everybody likes phase II troops better Nope. I prefer the phase I. However, the CW phase I troops look almost nothing like the movie...so I look forward for the chance of the animators to get the helmets more accurate. Quote
CMP Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 (edited) WHAT THE HELL?? They friggin killed Even Piell! They killed a council member!!! One that shows up after Order 66!!! You can screw with where Asajj Ventress came from, you can screw with the entire Ahsoka thing, but you can't just kill off a Jedi Council Member, when he shows up after the entire war. This is too far. But other than this...it was a pretty good episode. Edited March 12, 2011 by CallMePie Quote
Sulfurix Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Just watched part 3 of The Citadel. Evan Piell dies. I don't want to hear any ranting and raving about it. Quote
Cad Bane Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 (edited) Just to confirm everyone's thoughts, the episode guide did say that Tiin's starfighter was a recolored version of Ahsoka's and Adi Gallia's was a red version of Plo Koon's. (It would seem as though TCW designers are getting a little lazy, they still look cool though) This spoiler is for the pictures of the starfighters while the 2nd is a real spoiler if you have yet to see "Citadel Rescue" Master Tiin's Starfighter: And Master Gallia's: they killed Master Piell!!! Why!?! I guess we got what we wanted though, many people have been asking for republic deaths. Specifically those who we are fond of... On another note, Ahsoka was pretty quick to kill Osi Sobeck. I know he was killing Tarkin, but she was pretty violent. It would seem as though Anakin's violent personality is rubbing off on his padawan. Overall though, it was a good episode arc. Can't wait for the season finale! Chewie! We shall see how they pull this off... Edited March 12, 2011 by Cad Bane Quote

EDIT: Adi Gallia's Starfighter? Interesting... That would make a great set for another new Jedi Hopefully they might if they make it do it similar to Mace Windu's Starfighter. (It would seem as though TCW designers are getting a little lazy, they still look cool though) I'm sorry but those are indeed lazily done, they just basically recolored two existing Delta 7Bs and just killed off the uniqueness of the design of Blade of Dorin and Ahsoka's JSF. With regards to the episode, I enjoyed it very much, the action, the story, though it's really sad to see Master Piell go. Adi Gallia's Starfighter? Interesting... That would make a great set for another new Jedi Hopefully they might if they make it do it similar to Mace Windu's Starfighter. Getting another jedi minifig is of course always a welcome proposition, but as much as I like Delta 7Bs, I think people are getting tired of these same old 'triangles'. I'd rather have TLG release an updated Eta-2 than another Delta 7B. Quote

Indeed that's why I said "Hopefully they make it similar to Mace Windu's Starfighter" as in they have Droids fighting her Starfighter. Crab Droids maybe? But yeah I agree its time for the Eta-2 Starfighters to appear in Season 4 as well as Phase 2 Clones but going by TLG's way with CW Sets January 2012 will have CW Season 3 sets like most of this years CW January sets were Season 2. I just hope for some good Figures again Edited March 12, 2011 by commanderneyo Quote
Brickadeer Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I think it's possible TLG will do something similar to the ARF, and re-structure their helmet completely to accommodate a clone head. I think they will. 7655 is an Expanded Universe set, so they had not to care about heads. That's why I'm sure that TCW phase II helmets will be made for flesh heads. Plus, I hope the helmet will be modified in a way that it can be combined with armors. Quote
DarthSion Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Wow busy time for James Arnold Taylor, Obi, Plo and Osi. I liked when Obi said to Osi about the soft voice comment. Finely some decent episodes, pink yoda was cool, such a deep voice for someone so small. Sucks worse than the senate episodes that they killed echo, so now only 5s remain from Domino squad. I do fine myself confused, captain Tarkin he looks as old as he did in the movies. I see they have fully turned Ahsoka into starkiller. Quote
BrickArtist Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Hmmm. It was ok. Piell Didn't appear after TCW so I'm ok with that. I think they did his death very well. I was actually glad to see Ahsoka become a key player. We're also starting to finally see some character development. Anikans becoming the hero he is in the beggining of ROTS, and Ahsoka and Plo Koon is good too. We're starting to see a real ARC trooper in Fives, and the bit where cody sniped out a line of Commandos was brilliant. Now onto my critiques. The Blood-Hound bit was really unnecessary IMO. That time could have been better used for the space battle that didn't evolve a bit. Also Piell really should have died taking a blast for somebody or something-he just got eaten up by one of the hounds. Besides, his wounds looked far from fatal. Quote
Oky Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Well, they may not have been the best episodes, but they were a whole lot better and enjoyable than the Mortis ones. But then again, that's not a big achievement. I do fine myself confused, captain Tarkin he looks as old as he did in the movies. So? Isn't that a good thing? I mean, there's only a couple of years distance between these episodes and his appearance in ROTS (which can be seen in the commentary of last week's episode). I see they have fully turned Ahsoka into starkiller. How so? Just because she has two lightsabers that she holds backwards doesn't make her the same type of person. Piell really should have died taking a blast for somebody or something-he just got eaten up by one of the hounds. Besides, his wounds looked far from fatal. Maybe that's why it took him so long to die. And it's not like he died for nothing. He died protecting the group. Quote
BrickArtist Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Maybe that's why it took him so long to die. And it's not like he died for nothing. He died protecting the group. Well, it just seemed unrealistic: A master with his skills, being killed by a hound? Anikan owned those things! As did Obi. Quote
Cad Bane Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I just read on StarWars.com in the episode guide that the Citadel Challenge in "Clone Cadets" is named after the Citadel in this trilogy. Does this happen before or after "Clone Cadets". The costume change says after, but if they constructed the Citadel challenge after the Citadel, then where would they have gotten the info from? It would make more sense to model it after the escape, but according to the costumes, the escape happened later. Any thoughts on this? Quote

Seeing as Fives is a cadet in 'Clone Cadets' and an ARC trooper in 'Citadel Rescue', I'd say after. Before the group set out to rescue Even Piell (RIP ) they were studying old holomaps of the Citadel. It is likely that the cadet challenge was based on these, though probably not particularly accurately. Quote
sok117 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I liked the episode, but my only nitpick would be when Sasse said that they couldn't get through the defenses yet, but Plo said, we have too. Then they went through the defenses just like that. And they only sent one gunship down, wouldn't the droids be able to put two and two together and concentrate all fire on that one gunship? It would have been more realistic if they sent a bunch of gunships down to hide were the survivors were. But of course they made it to the ship without a scratch. Other then that it was a good episode IMO. Quote

That was really obvious. Yay! Master Tiin finally got a line or two! Hope to see more of him. Wow, two huge losses over the course of one episode arc (Echo and Piell) that's pretty significant. I hope you "more republic losses" people are happy. Though I agree that the Republic should have more significant losses, it was still quite sad to see Even Piell go. I was really hoping to see him more, he was pretty cool as was Echo... I really hope Ahsoka's next Lego model will have the arm and leg prints/bands (though I'm not sure she'll get them) and maybe two lightsabers (one with the new shorter blade that we see in the Minifigure series with the old neon green color [the new one is darker letting us use this one for yellow, unless Lego is so inclined to give us a true yellow]) That would make my day as her new outfit is so much better than the old one. BrickArtist Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Actually, he did. He even lived after Order 66. Ehh, What? What's your sorce? If your talking about EU-I don't count it. He didn't appear in sith, and obviously he wasn't in the OT. So in my book, TCW just tied a loose end. Quote
Mraz Skintas Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Wookieepedia says he died in 19 BBY on Coruscant, so I guess whoever edited that part of the article assumed he died during the Purge when Vader and the 501st stormed the Temple, but other than that there was nothing else on his death. -'Skintas Quote

Lucas makes TCW off of his canon, and not the EU. He doesn't care what some comic book writer made up, and if I were in his shoes I wouldn't either. TCW is what lucas thinks is a TV show that will be liked by kids, and have an interesting storyline, it's not an EU correspondent. Quote

When did that happen? Apparently Lucas' story for Grievous was that he enhanced himself because they wouldn't let him be a Jedi. Filoni spared us a retcon by keeping the Nadar Vebb episode ambiguous because he, in fact, actually respects the Expanded Universe. As for Durge, Wookieepedia says: Durge was also originally going to appear as the first bounty hunter in the 2008 Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series. Supervising Director Dave Filoni and writer Henry Gilroy considered reimagining Durge as a Human character, redesigning his alien features and keeping his armor. However, the exploration was short-lived, and was ultimately dropped in favor of a new Duros character named Cad Bane. BTW, I was catching up on CW to see what everyone was talking about by reading the Wookieepedia entries, and they just retconned basically the whole background of the Coruscant Nights series by killing off Even Piell in the latest episode. I'm becoming increasingly convinced that Lucas doesn't know enough about his own franchise and that Filoni should take over. This is getting ridiculous. I suppose by Season 7 Yoda will turn to the Dark Side and Threepio will drink a magic potion that makes him Force-sensitive. Then upon the detection of triolic waves around San Francisco they'll head back to Earth where Captain Data will reveal that he'll go back in time and die in the 1800s. Quote

Wouldn't it be amazing? ...In the future, make clones of of young George Lucas, and all the original cast, and start making EU episodes. That is the OT dream. Well, besides the Piell thing, it was a pretty good episode. Lots of action, and it really foreshadowed Anakin and Tarkin in the OT. Ahsoka lynching the warden was pretty crazy. I thought Anakin was gonna do it and was like "Oh yea, more obvious ahinting at Anakin getting closer to the dark side by having him stab ANOTHER person.." but then Ahsoka did it and I was mildly surprised.
