Redcross Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 This is my first topic post. This a building I created for my evolving town, I enjoyed working with curves and the challenge of an all white building. First floor Sculpture Studio Second floor Photographic Studio Third floor Art prints Hope you enjoy let me know what you think. Thanks Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 I love the modern sort of approach to the design there! The sign at the top of the building is fantastic, it looks very contemporary and has a nice modern feel about it. Very well done, and the artwork on the top floor is an excellent touch! Any more photos of the third floor? You just need to build frames for the paintings. Quote
hhcBrick Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 That's a sleek looking house! I like the feature above the door and you've got all those Art Deco curves working nicely. Quote
Skull-Mark_Ladybug Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 This is quite an intereesting building Redcross i really like what you did with the inverted bricks and flowers near the top its an excellent detail plus all the custom painting decals you made. The one thing about this that I think could use a bit of work would be the interior particularly the first floor. A bit of tiling (maybe checker board pattern) would really help pull everything together, of course that's just my opinion. Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Really AWESOME designing there 'redcross' - the photo studio is great so is the picture gallery. The frontage looks early 1930's easy - excellent work and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Redcross Posted May 5, 2010 Author Posted May 5, 2010 Thankyou all for your kind words and feedback. I would certainly gain from some more tiles to polish off the interior. This building was a challenge in that unlike many modular buildings minimal use of headlight or erling bricks were used. I also used very plain windows. So I tried to to create some interest with decorative features such as the sign, zig zag pattern around the door, curves and the wall feature with flowers. I have alot to learn but it is satisfying when the architectural style is at least recognised. Thanks again. Quote
LuxorV Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Very nice build, Redcross! So rich of details and conveying the feel of the time. My favoutite touches are the carvings on the front (especially creative and simple the one between the windows) and the photo development (is this the right espression?) studio. LuxorV Quote
gunm Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Very cool--lots of interesting scenes inside and out. I like the way the wording on the top was done as well as all the little theme-related details for the interior. Lego Lisa! Quote
samurai-turtle Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 So freak-in white. I think it needs a splash of color but it is just my opinion. I am thinking we should not be watching what is going on here (on the top left). Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Very nice and very white. It is an awsome MOC! I love the zig-zag pattern the most. Quote
