GoN2Broadway Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 (edited) After the apocalypse, groups of survivors joined together to survive the aftermath. One group calls themselves "Wanderers" - people who wander throughout the barren wastelands to find a new paradise led by a strange mystic. About two weeks ago I decided to try making figures similar or based on figures by another wonderful Custom Figure creator - JasBrick. In his Blog, JasBrick takes the time to show that anyone can do these figures - and I hope that this shows that with a little work anyone can do this as well. Wanderer Leader: Wanderer Mystic: With the Fabled Book of Writings. This figure is an homage to two other designers: 1: Jasbrick - the Lego "Davinci" figure 2: Unknown Custom Figure designer - I found the figure designed by someone else and I can't find who it was now - if you know please let me know so I can give them credit. Wanderer with shotgun: Wanderer with Gunblade: I hope you like my creations - Look for my posts on "The Wanders", "The Mechanoids", and "The Collective". Thanks! Minxter Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 (edited) Wanderer with shotgun: Wanderer with Gunblade: These are my favorites! They are all good but these ones are fantastic I really like the Star Wars parts combo or whatever you want to call it! Minxter Edited April 30, 2010 by Minxter Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Amazing, how did you get that worn and dirty look? Quote
GoN2Broadway Posted April 30, 2010 Author Posted April 30, 2010 Minxter - Thanks! indianajones - The "worn and dirty look" was achieved by placing a base coat on the elements - then I used a technique called dry-brushing upon the elements with various shades of colors - then I finished by using a wash (I believe I used the Games Workshop Flesh Wash) on top of everything. The cape got that look by dry-brushing along the edges with varying shades. Thanks! Quote
Piratedave84 Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 These are pretty awesome!!! I could see these being fielded in a Warhammer 40k game!!!1 They look like they might have been inspired by 40k Orcs !!! Superb work on the painting and customization!!! Quote

Piratedave84 - The leader was not inspired by Warhammer 40k, but I think the flag of the mystic was. I actually haven't ever seen Warhammer 40k until about 2 weeks ago, but thought they looked pretty cool. As I have been purchasing paints from a local game store I've gotten to be friends with one of the workers - and I'm totally going to learn how to play Warhammer 40k with Lego figures as my army ;) Quote
Piratedave84 Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 and I'm totally going to learn how to play Warhammer 40k with Lego figures as my army ;) THAT IS BRILLIANT!!!! You did say earlier you had some clones etc.. Then you might want to consider a space marine type army with special units or like "recruited" (press ganged!! ) units such as these ones. Anyways, I'm more of a purist and don't really use any other parts or modify mine, but these (as well as your other posts) were definitely worth the while, looking forward to seeing more!!! FYI - I also have a LOT (20 some colors) of warhammer paint, I no longer paint/assemble units so if you want it I'm willing to part with it. PM me if interested so we can work out some kind of agreement. Quote

Morgan19, perhaps? Your cape with the skull looks very similar to one of his. Quote
