Paul B Technic Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 This is based on set 8436 with a tray and loading arm made by me :) The main problem I had was with getting the angle of the loading arm right. I tried a few different methods but found this worked the best. Paul Quote
DLuders Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 (edited) The dumping mechanism is very good. Are there lorry trucks in Tasmania that use this system? In the USA, the garbage trucks grab rectangular trash containers and dump their contents up and over the side of the truck. I like your use of the Technic Bricks and gears. You sure did a complete mod of the 8436 set (pictured below): Edited April 26, 2010 by dluders Quote
Paul B Technic Posted April 26, 2010 Author Posted April 26, 2010 Thanks for your feedback, yes we do have some trucks that use this type of set up off the back (I was watching one at work this morning) basically the household domestic bins are put out and a truck with the side loading claw system empties these where as business and commercial bins are done with the rear loading type system which is what I built mine on. I am planning on filling in the back a bit more and maybe moving the gears under the tray to make it look better. Paul Quote
