AllanSmith Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 A twin steer car transporter. 7 Smart cars: 2 Stretch Limos. Enjoy Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 AWESOME just AWESOME ! People usual say I'm on fire with my MOC's - but man, you are bring the good stuff today 'AllanSmith' ! Excellent designing - it's about time Lego do one of these in this scale - yeah - in the real world ! Keep up the great work and I'm a conformist! 'Allan' really really I'm a conformist! ! Quote
legofan Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Hey! That's a super impressive Car Transporter you got there Bro! Very very nice! Works great too! Seven minicars! How did you get the scale up so right just for seven minicars or two stretch limos? Wonderful MOC skills! My envy~~ Thanks for sharing! Very nice! Quote
prateek Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Awesome truck! I like the trailer and how it folds Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Oh no! LEGO is trying to make us 'go green' with all these Smart Cars. Seriously, this is one of the best car transports that I've seen. I think yellow and grey works very well, and the design seems both functional and stream-lined. In fact, this would make a neat little set, although some car buying options to include color would be a nice plus for consumers. I want a red or light blue mini. Great job! Quote
Night City Dream Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 (edited) The pictures with limo show neatly how huge and disproportionate the wheels of the Limo are. Edited April 27, 2010 by Night City Dream Quote
RoryoCox Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Very nice. I love the design especially the cab. Quote
prateek Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 The pictures with limo show neatly how huge and disproportionate the wheels of the Limo are. Oh, wow. I just realized Quote
AllanSmith Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 Wasn't happy with the look of the twin steer so modified the cab to single front axle. Also added stone deflector to engine bonnet (USA = hood). Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Love the truck and all the cars! Quote
dr_spock Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Looks better. I think the rear of the tractor could be a bit longer. Is the back of the cab and the front of the trailer making contact in a sharp turn? Quote
AllanSmith Posted April 30, 2010 Author Posted April 30, 2010 Looks better. I think the rear of the tractor could be a bit longer. Is the back of the cab and the front of the trailer making contact in a sharp turn? No, there is no contact in a turn. There is a 2 stud gap between truck and trailer Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Interesting changes 'Allan' - I find the stone guard things a bit much - not bad redesign apart from that and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Nice creation. I think the truck part could be improved a small bit if a little longer, i.e. perhaps add some items immediately to the back of the bricks in front of the driver's seat. Normally trucks have exhausts or wiring, electronics and things there. However, only by seeing a longer version could I be sure it looks better. Quote
MetroiD Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I seem to have missed this one - with all the hype surrounding the new Smart, I must say you've really provided an excellent addition to that set. I've recently built a car transporter waggon for my BNSF, but I'm not too happy with its length and functioning. In that sense, I love how you've combined both of these aspects in your creation, nice job :) Quote
rriggs Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 It's nice but the trailer needs some "furniture" or greebling of some sort. The decks are a bit plain. Cheers Rog Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Great truck, 'A.Smith'. I agree, it definitely looks better with a single front axel. It seems only cement, crane, or army trucks can pull off the double axel . Terrific job on this build Quote
