7942 Is the first Lego set I have bought since I was a child.

I built it following the instructions the first time then did some small mods afterward.

The front I switched the grill out to black and changed the tow bar to white.

In the truck bed I removed the smooth gray bricks and replaced them with a 2x4 red flat brick.

In the bed of the truck I added the light, the light control joystick, and the chainsaw.

The trailer I have added the shovel and broom.

The rest of the trailer I moved the red sides in one brick allowing me to add a side tow hook, a hook for the hose nozzle, and the 1x4 control panel.

On the other side I added three 1x2 control panels two on a pivoting brick.

Then I added a custom off road stretcher

Nice try 'snyy' - your MODs have merit, although the Cut-Off Rescue Circular Saw uf-k960-14.jpg(you and quite a few people call it a chainsaw) should be mounted with the rest of the equipment on the trailer. Plus that floodlight.....can you remove it to be used outside the vehicle or raised up over the area to be lit ?

Keeping the colours of the clip plates the same and ah, the large number of gauges for such a small trailer unit ?

A broom is good idea, someone has to sweep up broken glass, etc.,.

If you use this axle plate 4600.gifinstead of the one's it originally come with your wheels will out stick out like a sore thumb.

I like your front end of the pick up truck - very realistic indeed.

Great job so far 'snyy' and I'm a conformist! ! :sweet:

Thanks lightningtiger for your suggestions.

The light I have moved up and on to a pivoting brick with the red 2x4 as a base and flipped

the truck bed sides to cover the gap.

The light now can be raised to illuminate the job site.

The trailer also got some upgrades. Two black and two red clips are now used to keep colors matched. Also the broom moved down to allow room to put the circular saw.

In the rear I removed the extra control panels to just two. Changed the black clip to red to move the black clip up front.

The wheels do look a little funny but I do not have any other axles so that is a bummer.

It looks a whole lot better, got any 1x1 tiles, like light blue grey, just to cover the bare spots on the ends of that 2x1 gauge tile on your trailer.

Now the wheels issue, only thing I can suggest is if you can't reduce the width of the wheel base either make the vehicle wider or raise the height of both pick up and trailer with 2x2 plates - give it that bush-bashing scrub fire fighting monster truck look, hey you can only try.

Here this is my CFS fire truck - take any ideas from my design and their are a few of us who have done various fire fighting vehicles - check them out !

Good luck and I'm a conformist! 'snyy' keepon bricking !

I motified mine too! Mostly because I don't know where some pieces and the instructions are. I used a chain rope to connect the trailer to the truck. Now it can race to the fire... in style!
