Klaus-Dieter Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 (edited) Hello everybody! Like proposed already some weeks ago, here is my covered waggon. It is a MOD from the awesome set 6716 Weapons Wagon: I already designed it around Easter but was very busy so I could firstly show it now. Here it is: Covered Waggon Have you made the children ready to go? Have you packed the food? And have you fed the horse? Yes?! So let's move westwards! This set includes a covered waggon with kitchen waggon, mother, father, son, daughter, a horse, a barrel, a box, a fire place and a lot of accessory. An overview: The covered waggon while moving: The kitchen waggon: The last savings for a rainy day which stayed after the crossing from Europe to America - hidden in the lower part of the covered waggon: The food the settler family took with them: Some more pics can be found in this folder (when public) of my BS gallery. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter Edited April 21, 2010 by Klaus-Dieter Quote

Commodore Hornbricker Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Very nice. Pictures look good also...except that blurry one but the rest look really good Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Great MOD 'Klaus-Dieter' - very COOL little wagon/trailer on the back of the main one ! The settler family looks good too ! Again great job and I'm a conformist! ! P.S. All you need now is an Indian selling blackets to them and a crazy old gold miner running from a rattle snake ! Quote
ZO6 Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I love the wagon that you've made. Converting the original, more military themed Covered Wagon into a civilian wagon is a great thing to do. If the Western theme is ever revisited by TLC it would be wonderful to see more civilian type sets. There is a lot of detail in this creation, you've really thrown in everything, including the kitchen sink I'm just about done picking up all the Adventurers sets off of Bricklink that I had missed (and still wanted), and the Western theme is my next priority. Seeing these Western mocs is always a pleasure. Quote
John31388 Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Great job, way to make a good set even better. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted April 25, 2010 Author Posted April 25, 2010 Thank you all very much for your nice comments! I really like to hear that you like it. I built the kitchen waggon because firstly I wanted to add something individual to this set (that it is not "only" a MOD) and secondly since it was in that time common that settlers took a kitchen waggon with all things they needed for their future kitchen with them. Minifig Lecturer Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 The kitchen wagon is fantastic, really reminds me of the old western flicks. As mentioned by ZO6 the civilian theme is a good improvement. Good job. On a side note, my brother has the original of this set but the material cover is grubby - any recommended way of cleaning this? - ps yours looks very clean, is it new? Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Nice job KD. I really like the kitchen / 'chuck wagon'. You did an equally nice job on the figs. The LEGO Weapons Wagon was my first Wild West set, so I have fond memories of the official set. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 (edited) Thank you very much for your nice comments, Calvin and TheBrickster! On a side note, my brother has the original of this set but the material cover is grubby - any recommended way of cleaning this? - ps yours looks very clean, is it new? No, this one isn't new. Like you can see, the soldier's symbol is missing on it. It is only made out of paper. The original cover included in the official set is made out of some sort of cloth. But to your question: I must admit that I regrettably don't know how to clean it. Perhaps take some warm water with a bit washing agent and a brush and brush carefully over it. Nice job KD. I really like the kitchen / 'chuck wagon'. You did an equally nice job on the figs. The LEGO Weapons Wagon was my first Wild West set, so I have fond memories of the official set. It was one of my first Western sets, too, and one of the minor sets which I bought not used. I really it - excellent set with awesome design and a lot of accessory and playability! Perhaps I'll do a review on it (as well as on the Boulder Cliff Canyon and the Showdown Canyon (of which both I don't remember having seen any reviews since I'm member here) - but at the moment I'm very busy.
