zyrex Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 I got the 4956 House the other day and started building it. When I got to step 11 and was going to start step 12, I see that the next step is not number 12, but number 4! And it continues through step 5, 6, 7, etc again up until step 11 once more before it jumps from step 11 to step 20. Pretty much impossible to build it, I'd say. Fortunately the instructions on lego.com was usable, but even they had some mistakes in them. But they were small, so they didn't disrupt the building process. Have any of you experienced anything like this? A good number of steps actually missing from the instructions? Disclaimer: I know 4956 is old-ish, but FYI I bought it MISB from my local store, so it wasn't tampered with :P Quote
vladoniki Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 (edited) I have 4956 and I built it by the printed instruction - I did not find any problem with the instruction, but I have build just one of the three models. Do you have a problem with this model? ... or with other? Tonight I will check out the instructions of the other two models. Edited April 22, 2010 by vladoniki Quote
zyrex Posted April 22, 2010 Author Posted April 22, 2010 I built the american house, sorry, forgot to mention that :) (http://gwareth.org/gallery/mypics/Lego/City/P1020601.JPG.html) I have not checked the other houses, and I'm far far away from where I built my lego at the moment so I can't check. I can post some images next time I'm there :) Quote

vladoniki Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 (edited) OFF Topic I have used these parts: The battery box is outside the house. The cable comes into the house through a little hole - plate 1x2 (I have removed it). More photos - in my Gallery Edited April 22, 2010 by vladoniki Quote
zyrex Posted June 21, 2010 Author Posted June 21, 2010 I finally was able to snap a photo of the offending pages... But I got it finished at least :P Quote
General Redwater Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Wow, at first I thought that it was just a little error on the pages, but after seeing those pictures, I'm amazed. How could this happen, don't the printers remember which page it's on? On the bright side though ,as you said, at least you were able to still build it. - General Redwater Quote
happymark Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 (edited) I got similar problem for my X-wing fighter. it misplaced several pages (repeated some pages while missed other pages). quite upset actually. I contact TLG. but they said the instruction book is out of print so just directed me to online instruction :( I finally was able to snap a photo of the offending pages... But I got it finished at least :P Edited June 21, 2010 by happymark Quote
zyrex Posted June 22, 2010 Author Posted June 22, 2010 @happymark: The online instructions were a bit better, but they still had the first couple of missing pages, but the last pages were okai. Frustrating! :P Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Wow those are odd yet significant errors, I haven't experienced that before but it seems it's a major letdown on the quality control of the instructions. I would have forgiven an erroneous page, but several missing pages? Quote
