roamingstop Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 (edited) Short question: Is there a general thread (or forum subthreads) where soon to be discontinued sets can be listed? E.g. the the past week the City Construction Crane 7632 went onto sale (for 10 days); then backorder and is now dropped from most of Europe. Simialrly the Combine Harvester 7636 is on sale in Europe - but still available. Someone else reported (elsewhere) that the UCS Millenium Falcon has also quietly disappeared from Europe... and wont be restocked. I realise a lot of things could be listed as conjecture and rumour - and there is no telling when the actual model will be dropped (it depends upon Lego Marketing / Product Management bods) or repeated in a new batch... but it could be helpful for those who wish to buy before it is too late. Or perhaps im blind... and they are tucked away somewhere. Edited April 21, 2010 by roamingstudio Quote
drdavewatford Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 I fully agree that it would be fantastic to have a reliable indication of when sets are to be retired. Few of us can afford to buy every set we want as soon as they are available; in practice we need to carefully plan out the timing of our purchases according to money, space availability etc. I'm losing count of the number of sets which have been retired without warning and which I've subsequently paid well over the odds for on eBay. Can't LEGO give us some indication of its plans ? Dr. D. Quote
