YG-49 Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 (edited) I was going to enter this in the Whack-A-Fig as Deinonychus, but I didn't have time. Seeing only one other on the internet, I decided to try and build a minifig scale Raptor. Close to, anyway. I had to redesign the legs 3 times to get them right. Normal view: Size comparison with my Robert Muldoon minifig: For anyone interested, the fig alone: Unfortunately, to get it to stand up right, it requires just a *little* bit of modding. I had to cut/sand the claw piece short enough so the Agents pistol (The support, in other words) could fit in the robot arm: Thanks for viewing! Edited July 2, 2011 by Rufus Indexed Quote
Big Cam Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Nice job although I can't help but see a Santa hat out of the red and white pieces. Quote
prateek Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Nice! The shape is perfect! The minifig's face is also cool Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Excellent raptor and minifig 'YG-49' - I like the leg construction - very clever indeed ! I'm a conformist! 'YG-49' I'm a conformist! ! Quote
LuxorV Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Nice smal scale dino, YG-49. I like the techniques you used for the legs and (apart from the colour scheme, which is too eye-catching for me [remember this is a predator, but not a venomous species]) the head. One question: how sturdy is the head/neck connection? LuxorV Quote
Superkalle Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Nice work! I'm not much of a mod man myself, but hey, we're all different. I'm curious what your model would look like with this head? Could that work? In my experience at least one curved piece on a build fools the eye enough to make the entire MOC look better. Quote
