Dread Pirate Wesley Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 (edited) Everyone knows its faster to get around by air than by jeep! Here's a sneak peak of my Green Army helicopter, not sure if this belongs in licensed or other. Uses most of the parts from 7595, even one of the jeep wheels! Special thanks to SpaceMonkey for the inspiration. This is still fairly preliminary so comments and suggestions are appreciated! -Dread Pirate Wesley Edited April 16, 2010 by Dread Pirate Wesley Quote
samurai-turtle Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 (edited) Pretty nice got any other views of it? Edited April 15, 2010 by samuraiturtle Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 That is really fantastic. I love it Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I like it ! - (Grandpa Max - Ben10) AWESOME design and suits those green men to a tee. Excellent designing and I'm a conformist! 'Dread Pirate Wesley' I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Capt. Stabbin Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Looks good! Reminds me of a Nam' era chopper. Keep up the good work! Quote
Spyder Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Great job, it looks really realistic, in a green, army man, plastic way. As mentioned, do you have any other pictures of it? I would love to see more. Quote
Dread Pirate Wesley Posted April 16, 2010 Author Posted April 16, 2010 Thanks! C&C please, still a work in progress, more pics added to the original post... -DPW Quote
prateek Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Awesome copter! The balance of green and black is perfect Quote
Big Cam Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Excellent design, I love it, it totally reminds me of Choppers from the Vietnam war, I like that you have a matching green helmet as well. Quote
sok117 Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 okay that settles it, I'm stalking up on those green army men battlepacks. Thanks a lot, now I'm going to be out $50 . Your creation is stunning, any chance of seeing another army men creation coming up? Quote
BrickMonkeyMOCs Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Wow, that looks really great! And thanks for the credit. I like how you've used click hinges for the landing skids (it's a clever way of attaching the passenger troops), and the use of a dish for the tail rotor is very nice too. If I were to offer any suggestions it would be that the main rotor blades look a little short while the front of the landing skids look a bit long. For the latter you might want to change the front black antennas for black lightsaber bars. Quote
Santhor Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Cute, but oddly threatening. Very nice. -Santhor Quote
Dread Pirate Wesley Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 Thanks everyone for the comments! Your creation is stunning, any chance of seeing another army men creation coming up? Yes I think there is a lot of potential here, Ive seen a lot of tanks so far so maybe a halftrack, or artillery or something that usually comes with a bag of green army men! SpaceMonkey, I swapped out the skids for lightsaber blades and it does make it look a little more natural, unfortunately all I have is brown right now so Ill have to order some black ones then take a pic. I wish they made 1x10 plates in black I think they would complete the look but to keep the plasticy green army men feel I had to use 1x8. Maybe someday though -DPW Quote
sok117 Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 You've inspired me, I've just built a really cool army man tank, all green, but sadly I don't have any army men yet, I'll wait until I get some before posting. Quote
dr_spock Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Nice. Looks like a Hughes OH-6 helicopter. Quote
