Omicron Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Click thumb to enlarge Moogles are a recurring race in the Final Fantasy series. They first appeared in Final Fantasy III, and have appeared in some capacity in every main series game since, with the exception of Final Fantasy IV. The importance of Moogles to the plot varies from game to game, ranging from playable characters to simple cameos. Although their appearance has changed throughout games, they can easily be recognized by the small wings, usually pink fur and a pom-pom hanging from their heads. And they are cute! :D I based this Moogle of its Dissidia design which can be seen here. *Face decal made by me and printed by CJBGraphics. Enjoy! -Omi Quote
Sandy Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Cuuuute! Moogles are one of my favorite creatures ever, I even have two plushies of them. Your moogle is certainly recognizable, but I'd still work on him a bit more. I'm mostly bothered by the legs, but also the oversized pompom. The face decal is perfect, though, and the idea for wings is fun. Quote
Omicron Posted April 15, 2010 Author Posted April 15, 2010 Moogles are one of my favorite creatures ever, I even have two plushies of them. I have 3! :D And yeah this is no final design, but for now it will have to do. As for the pompom this one was tricky and it took me a long time to figure out a good way to have it without it looking awkward. That's why I based this moogle off the Dissidia design since its pompom is practically the size of its head. The future holds many possibilities. -Omi Quote
sok117 Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I was just playing final fantasy, Nice moogle, what game is that from? they look a lot different then the game I was playing. I agree with sandy, the legs are a bit weak, but everything else is spot on, unless your not a purist, in which case i would see about using one of the joystick pieces to elevate the pom pom. Any chance of seeing a black mage in the future? they are my favorites. But then again I get a new favorite every week... Quote
Omicron Posted April 15, 2010 Author Posted April 15, 2010 (edited) Any chance of seeing a black mage in the future? they are my favorites. The black mage was actually one of my very first FF figs. Click My flickr has all my good stuff while my Brickshelf (when public) has everything I ever made for FF. I was just playing final fantasy, Nice moogle, what game is that from? they look a lot different then the game I was playing. This particular moogle is from Dissidia. My original intent was to make one based on the one from FFVI but thats still in the drawing board. in which case i would see about using one of the joystick pieces to elevate the pom pom. The lever/joystick was one of the ideas for the pompom. Still is just doesn't look right. Still have to work it. -Omi Edited April 15, 2010 by Omicron Quote
Sandy Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 The lever/joystick was one of the ideas for the pompom. Still is just doesn't look right. Still have to work it. I was thinking about a lever piece for the pompom as well. How about you get one where the actual lever is either yellow or red, then take it out of the round base and somehow attach it upside down on the head (so that the bigger end is up)? Would that work? I been tinkering with that exact method actually. Either I'm doing it wrong or just not thinking straight. But no worries, it can and will be done. And I never use glue. -Omi Quote
Pyramid Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Nice mog, kupo! It's hard to make a moogle and keep it in scale with minifigs, and I think you did a great job! Make a cactuar fig! Quote
Omicron Posted April 16, 2010 Author Posted April 16, 2010 Make a cactuar fig! Way ahead of ya Though it isn't minifig scale, yet. -Omi Quote
