ok heres some pics of crusaders:

Templars (everybody either loves em or hates em):

on the left you have the brother-at-arms and on the right you have the Sergeantbrother-at-arms, a general misconception of artists and movies and such always places the cross on their tunic in the middile, this is not correct, the Templar distinctive red cross was always over their left breast, crusaders with red crosses centered were not Templars but other crusading knights, same goes for their shields below you can see 2 types of Templar shields, notice no big red crosses, the order was not given into flashy showmanship and such on their tunics or shields, unlike the occasional mercenaries they hired.
