-zenn Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 (edited) I'm almost finished with my next moc, I only have to add some minor details. Which one of them are the lights, the police lights. Now I've looked up some police cars, bikes etcetera on google/wikipedia. And have trouble choosing in what order I should place them. Nice lights on this car btw. blue - left, red - right? red - left, blue - right? red - left, red - right? blue - left, blue - right? Double colors left and right? Other colors? What do you prefer and why? Edited April 9, 2010 by -zenn Quote
Highster 11 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 (edited) Well, the order of the police lights is yours preference, but I prefers the european lights - blue-left and blue-right. Here is sample: On my opinion this combination blue-blue is excellent Nicky Edited April 9, 2010 by Highster 11 Quote
Ralph_S Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 It indeed very much depends on what country or in case of the US what particular police force your car is supposed to represent. In the UK, The Netherlands and Germany they're always blue. The New York Police Department has red and white lights. The California Highway Patrol has red, white and blue lights. I don't really have a preference either way. Cheers, Ralph Quote
Cpl Yu Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Before 2009, blue emergency light were reserve only for volunteer Firefighter and EMS. Since 2009, all emergency vehicle in the state of New York have acquired blue LED/light in their light strob pattern. Studies have shown that blue light can be seen further compare to red and more noticeable for drivers. Quote
Randal Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 what it really is is that people will generally slow down more if they think it's the cops, so if everybody has the same color lights as the cops, you'll slow down just in case. That's not just New York. When I was driving a truck across the whole country, I saw that everywhere. Quote
