Delta 38 Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Ooh, I didn't know there were two katana in the set. Unless it's an extra piece, I didn't notice that before. Quote
WhiteFang Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 As a Ninja collector like myself, I am crazy about past Ninja minifigs, but for this version, I must admit I am not very excited about it unlike the upcoming Forestmen and the rest of it. I don't really like the torso used, as I can't seems to integrate well with my older Ninja minifigs, and somehow this torso reminds me of the EPVI SW, Luke Skywalker. I certainly agreed that this minifig could be used as a generic torso for other purposes such as guards in Prince of Persia, Indiana Jones and etc, but other than the golden katanas, and the black ninja wrap, this is a slightly above average minifig. I feel it can be improved further, but nevertheless this is still a minifig which is on my priority list. Quote
Lord Arjay Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Nice review. This minifig isn't my favourite one by a long shot but if I end up with it then I really wouldn't mind. Quote
vexorian Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 I like the head , looks great for any kind of army, I could make use of such face in some custom space figs I have... I think the kattanas would have been better in silver though (I don't think there is such a thing as a golden kattana ...) Also, I notice that either the ambassadors are very lucky or quality isn't a bigger issue in these minifigs than it is on the figs of normal sets. Quote
RichardAM Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Along with the Indian Native this was one of the figs I was looking to least from the first wave- too much of this fig is similar to what we already have. I like the minifig head though- along with the majority in the series I can see it being very useful. :) Quote
Batbrick Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Thanks for the review Copmike, I really like this Ninja fig and hope to get him, though I admit he's not as exciting as others and I'd hoped he'd have a ninja star. Batbrick Away! Quote
jmadd58 Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 when are these available in shops? i want to get the ninja to make a star wars figure. Quote
LegoDad42 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Nice comparison photos in the review. Really helps me since I don't have any off the original Ninja figures. I'll definitely get this for my collection but I really actually like those mini-fig stands alot. Wonder if LEGO would sell those ala carte'... Quote
peterab Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 So unfair Mike, what are you guys going to get one of each before we even get a chance to pour money into getting all of these? I've already got an order in for half a box full. A lot of our independant toy stores order together, and my local LUG has a contact through whom we can order :-) I won't get them till June I suspect though. I quite like this particular figure. I missed out on the ninja sets due to dark ages, but I also see this as more broadly useful. The torso in somewhat generic. The hood is less so but still has its uses. I'd like to have a few of these. Quote
Piranha Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Thanks copmike for another fig review However this is one of my least favorites (If not the least) of the collectible figs from series 1. I prefer the original black ninja, it was way better. It had more torso detail like the star. This one reminds me of a SW sith torso or something I also don't like the head nor the color of the katana's Oh well there is plenty of other figs to chose from, I would be disappointed if I got a ninja though because the resale value is likely to be low. Ras 74 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Ninjas rules! I like this new torso of the ninja better than the old one for sure. This torso reminds alot more of the older torso for the Emperor more than Lukes: Thanks for the review CopMike! Quote
FedericoTorres Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Where are you getting these minifigures? By the way, nice review!!! Quote
pedro Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Hmmm... I am also jealous of your uncanny ability to get these ahead of release... but not so much I din't enjoy yet another of your nice wee reviews! The Ninja may not be the most impressive of the series, but all these new minifigs are going to add so much scope when it comes to making MOC'figs. Just looking at these and many of the others is sparking off ideas in my head - really can't wait to get my hands on some of these. Many thanks for sharing these with us CopMike. Quote
swahiliboy Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Thanks 'CopMike' for the review - actually I like this one now - he looks more Ninja like with his costume - all black like a real one would have been. Can't wait for these to hit the shops - COOL ! I'm a conformist! ! Nice minifig - simple yet deadly! Quote
crazylegoman Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 ... two kanatas? Must get! Hold that, Must get all of them! Quote
