hawkyboy4 Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Have you ever seen a colour scheme that was the most terrible idea known to LEGO? Or which colour schemes deserve awards for being able to work out of impossibility? I'm not sure whether this topic has already been created, but mine is special, so there. I'll start with obvious things about colour schemes: Dark Grey (dark bley?(the new one, not that old one, it was ugly) works with everything. I doubt there ever was a LEGO set that did not contain at least one piece of black LEGO. Quote
Skalldyr Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 I doubt there ever was a LEGO set that did not contain at least one piece of black LEGO. I think in the dawn of Lego there were only two colours! Red and White. And there are actually sets without black: 626-2 I do not like White and Pink very much, combined together. Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 (edited) The best: Dark tan, Dark brown, Gold, Trans. purple and Sand/Dark green Possibly bad color(IMO): the new PoP sand orange, reminds me of some MB bricks my friend has... The worst: Mashed potato Willy hair, Vintage Minifig red and Frozen-hotdog IJ flesh Edited April 6, 2010 by indianajones Quote
Tereglith Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Lego has quite a few examples of good color schemes - the white, blue, and trans-orange of Ice Planet 2002 is nice and clean, and more recently the red, dark bley, and trans-green of Atlantis is my favorite. Power Miner's orange and lime seemed too bright and clashy, but its sheer audacity and the cohesivity of the first-wave sets makes it work. I think that most truly bad color schemes get knocked out before they leave the conceptual stage. However, the second wave of power miners, with its Lime/Orange/Blue/Chrome/Red was just too crazy and mismatched to ever work. Quote
