According to the Yahoo Frontpage- There is going to be a new SW comedy series. Animated, no less.

I have a feeling that this could be great or terrible. I wonder what happened to the live-action series?

Discussion? I'm betting on lots to follow.

The live-action series comes out in late 2011

They're posting the same thing on starwars.com.

Personally I feel that this could be hilarious, branching off of the RC episodes into its own thing- sort of a "day in the life of ___" type thing, but with an edge toward humor.

However, I'm expecting it to be terrible... Not just because I'm a pessimist, but mostly because it's buy the same people as "Backyardigans" and "Back at the barnyard"- both kid's shows. I've also heard somehwere before that they were making an even more <insert that tiresome argument> animated series, because the CW was "getting too dark." :hmpf:

Oh no. I really do hope the animation is good but it doesnt look to comforting to see that that the Backyardigans and Back at the Barnyards animators are animating it. At least they have some funny guys writing it and who know the Star Wars universe. This is either going to be great or a complete flop imo.

Oh wow, this could be good! I think the RC SW parodies were already going into this direction with sketches like the one about Ponda Baba, and we all know how those turned out! :sweet: Admittedly, the line about it being intended to "appeal to all ages" and directed/produced by people who worked on kiddie shows does make me a bit uncomfortable, but I have faith in Seth and Matthew, so I'll be looking forward to this!

I wonder if it will still be stop motion though, considering it will be Lucas Animation who will be doing it.

Hopefully it won't have jokes only a 6-year old kid would laugh at. Original, prequel or both trilogy(ies)? Wait, if this is an undead SW, when did it die?

Wait, when was this announced? ?yad sloof lirpA

SW and comedy. I small amounts yes, but a SW comdey..

Please George, stop selling out. I'll hold my thoughts until I actually see it, but I'm not excited.

The Clone Wars can't get my full attention, I serriously doubt this new (I still want more money) plan will do goot to the Star Wars saga.

So far Star Wars and humor were only a good match when it was a parody.

Someone needs to stop George before he completley destroys the last shred of legitimate moviemaking legacy that Star Wars is going to have in the general public conciousness.

:hmpf: That is the final straw George. Come on, it seems like he's messing his own story up so no one can make EU stories. George, slow it down. This is almost as bad as George wanting C3PO be a street urchin that calls people "Suckas" (not lying, thats the sad part). It rather GL sell Star Wars to a more competant person, or leave the non trilogies era to EU writers.

I agree completely with you and Tereglith. Though "Suckas" just barely would have been better than some of lines now... Didn't SW became a comedy starting with Jar-jar up to now?

OK, so yesterday I overlooked that Seth green is going to be a part of this. I love robot chicken, so I'll be a little easier on this project until I see it.

I'm a bit more excited now.

IMO the Droid's on the cliff bit in the Clone wars movie was pretty good...

Please....please....let this be an April Fool's Joke...p-please....

*Dies*

Well, they might be able to pull it off. Seth Green is involved in Family Guy and Robot Chicken, so it's like 35% possible it might work.

Robot Chicken was his thing, no way I can be as nasty with his jokes when he's working for George Lucas. Agreed we should give them the benefit of doubt, but still, the dangers of destroying the whole saga is getting bigger and bigger.
