Deinonychus Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Okay, so this probably counts more as a Minifig Scene then a Vignette due to the lack of any real...building involved ( ), but I got the idea for this from listening to the Revenge of the Sith soundtrack while I was working today. I thought it might be more interesting to stage the moment where the infamous Order 66 is given then the actual act...the whole situation is just so full of different and strong emotions that the conflicted seconds right before the betrayal is carried out seem to be the most poignant. Couple more pics here if you're interested in all the angles. Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 I think brickshelf is down at the moment :( Quote
Deinonychus Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 :-D That's kind of amusing considering, I was referred to Brickshelf because the site I had been hosting from went down a couple times Well folks, in case Brickshelf is down, you can find one pic here Quote
hewkii9 Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Whew, pretty good, I like the feeling of the last pic. Could've put in a larger scape, maybe a dreaded BURP, or a LURP. Quote
Chuck Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 I agree with hewkii, except for the using a BURP as landscaping (also, hewkii, it won't be a vignette if the plate is any bigger). The scene looks a little plain and boring IMO. -l2k- Quote
JoeMI6 Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Very nicely done, you capture the feeling of the scene very well. I thought this would always be difficult to do in Lego, as there's only a limited amount of emotion you can get. But the positioning works very well, but i think it might work a bit better as an MOC than a Vignette, as then you can see the oblivious Jedi battling as the Clones recieve the order. It's a great idea that could be developed. Quote

In the scene I was going for a point where the Jedi had just finished cutting down a group of battle droids, and he and the clones were standing among the debris of battle. But as you pointed out, with limited Minifug articulation it's not easy to convey a more relaxed body language for the Jedi...perhaps I could have "deactivated" the saber by taking the blade out. Either way, it's just something to consider next time I try something like this, eh? Quote
