Zane Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 So, here goes. Lord Vladek Yeah. Scary. The silver on his shield and torso is the new pearl silver, as seen in Axonn and some Matoran Of Voya-Nui. The helmet, annoyingly, isn't black, as the packaging makes it seem, but the exact same one from 8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress. The new sword is flimsier than past swords. Oh, the armour on the thighs is the same speckled silver as his helmet. The cape is okay. It looks nice, but is made out of the same cheap material as King Mathias. I was expecting a more velvety cape. All the silver on this is nice and shiny. It also makes the cannon seem bigger than it actually is. It only has two wheels. The King Jayko one has four, WITH axes! Oh well. That's how it all fits on and stuff. With the launcher removed. So yeah. To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of this set. There are a few useful pieces, but overall it is way overpriced. You can get a perfectly good Exo-Force mecha for a lower price... Get this set if you adore the megafigures. If not, save the money to buy 8877 Vladeks Dark Fortress. It's reduced everywhere now too. It's the best set of last year. Get it. Now. Gallery of this review, when public. TT Quote
prateek Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 not as good as i thought it would be... Quote
The Hordesman Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Good review, Ive been thinking of getting this set but now I know I shouldnt. However, I think you need to fix the dust problem at home... It is kind of annoying. Quote
Zane Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 Whattya mean? I think most of the weirdness on those pictures is the flash.... TT Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 9, 2006 Governor Posted March 9, 2006 Anymore comments for Mr Tilius's review or the set under review? Quote
Berry Syedow Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 What's with that electric surge exiting the catapult contraption? ;-) In all seriousness this set is a nice addition to the collection of mega-figures, and it's considerate of the LEGO Company to include some basic bricks for the first time (If I'm not mistaken). My beef (besides the rampant juniorization) is the torn up cape. If people desire a torn up cape then let them customize it, but I disapprove of this relatively recent trend of hackneyed cloth, plastic and whatnot. The final verdict: 3.75/5 Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 1, 2006 Governor Posted April 1, 2006 Ahhhhhhh... Another Mega-figure... Does anyone here actually collect the mega-figures and play with them like action figures? Or are they more of an ornamental affair like McFarlane figures. Quote
