I'm just fooling around in LDD and came up with this basic modular home.

One concern I have is whether the front steps come out too far - how high should steps be? 2 plates? 1 brick?

Also, have a look at the left and right front windows - Which would you go with?

A lunch hour well spent :)

Just use a minifig for scale and base it on reality.

You can also look at existing modular houses for comparison.

I would myself look at Market Street set in detail to obtain heights and depths of steps among other things.

Look nice so far, how big are you planning it ?

Also is it going to have an internal staircase and furnishings ?

I'm a conformist! 'Danpb' I'm a conformist! ! :sweet:

Nice! For the steps, I use 2 plate height for each step, and I like the window on the left. I can't wait to see how this turns out.

Thanks everyone! I'm actually looking at Market Street in terms of detail and scale - I like how they did a couple things.

I'm really tempted to do a staircase, but I'm also tempted not to. I think in this building it may take up too much room. I kind of want to do a livingroom and kitchen, so having a staircase will limit my in terms of space.

On the other hand, having a staircase will give me a chance to use more techniques. I spent a lot of time today trying to figure out how best to design a flowerbox for the back window - kind of like GG's roof-top deck...OOhh..just got a great idea for the flower boxes :D.

As far as the size, I'm not sure :). 3 stories? It'll likely be the same size as Market Street. I'm trying not to completely copy that set, but it is hard not to - such nice detail.

This is my first LDD moc and I likely won't be able to make this unless I tear down GG and/or hit up BL for bricks.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone - love this forum!
