Commodore Hornbricker Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Nice review. I am not at all into this type of set for the set itself but the parts and colors are very usefull for a pirate MOCer such as myself. Gotta have it. Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 This set seems alot better than I thought! Can the saw and swords be activated at the same time, or do they hit eachother? Minifigs are okay, I can get most of them in other sets, and Zolm(Zebra Ogre Lion Meat?) looks ugly. Does the light brick work if you put the dagger in the opposite hole? Quote

Yes, the traps can be activated at the same time - they don't collide The light-up feature only works if you insert the dagger on the left hand side. Quote
FedericoTorres Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Excellent review! Thank you Like the other have said, after reading the review I now want to buy this set. Quote
prateek Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Nice! This set is better than I expected, and I love those traps Quote
Joey Lock Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 since I'm not really going to play with it, and probably not break it up for parts My thoughts exactly. I mean, those bodys, especially the princess and Nazim will certainly come in handy for some Pirate MOC's. They could be Babary Cosairs or merchantmen from the Middle east! Think of the possibilites this theme has to offer too parts used for Indiana Jones, Pirates and even Town MOC's. Its going to be a part, rather than play theme. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 When you say exclusive, you mean in the color, right? I have about 20 of 'em. (The lion heads.) I like this set a bit more now. Do you have a picture of the light brick? It's the new non-exo force kind, right? I have one in red. Quote

I like this set a bit more now. Do you have a picture of the light brick? It's the new non-exo force kind, right? I have one in red. Yes, it's the new type. Look a pic up on Bricklink. My work is done! Quote
Santhor Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Great review! Like many others, I don't think I'll buy this, unless it's on clearance. In the side View picture (near the bottom) it looks like Nizam went a little wild with his flame toupee. -Santhor Quote
squidman85 Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 So many gray slopes! And i very like the idea with trans yellow pieces as sands of time. Quote

The Crazy One Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Thanks for the review! I like this set, but I can't imaging getting it. I will just get the Ostrich race I think. A good way for two great new moulds. I also really want the sword holster on his back. Brilliant for my little plans. Quote
Captain Becker Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Yes, yes, yes and yes, i want this set so badly right now, i love those glowy pieces and love those gold pieces (Specially those dagger`s) Captain Becker Quote
Wout Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Thank you for the nice review. The set looks more like it is in a cave or something than a real building, but it has some nice details. Quote
bamaker Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Great review and really convinced me to pick up this set. I finished it last night, and had fun with all the features. I'm hoping to convert it into the hiding place of the Holy Grail, as seen in IJ and the Last Crusade -- we'll see if I get around to it. I did notice that the new color bricks, what are we calling it? nougat?, don't seem to grip as well as the traditional color bricks. Has anybody else noticed this? Quote
Svelte Posted April 8, 2010 Author Posted April 8, 2010 Thank you for the nice review. The set looks more like it is in a cave or something than a real building, but it has some nice details. I am pretty sure the scene in the movie is set in a desert cave... I did notice that the new color bricks, what are we calling it? nougat?, don't seem to grip as well as the traditional color bricks. Has anybody else noticed this? I hadn't noticed any issues myself... If anyone has the same problem, let us know. Quote

The Eye Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Thanks for the review! I was going to get Alamut (meaning I would have to save up) but I'm thinking of just getting this, which I can afford. But will I regret not saving up? Only time will tell! Quote
Lord Embo Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 I don't know if this counts as bumping an old topic, but UK instruction manuals also have colour errors for some reason. It makes building certain sets quite annoying in my opinion! Lord Embo Quote
Flobnomdob Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 I wish I'd got this set now. I'm, seeing this, actually surprised that TLG would possibly consider giving so many useful parts in one set! The lawering at the bak there of slopes looks more like something a real moc'er would build, not the usual simplified BURP used in most non-exclusive sets. I understand that (As a Pirates moc'er) these parts would be perfect. Also, this is not just a parts pack- it looks amazing itself! Quote
