Have you, like me, been struggling to get those pesky tiles off your baseboards when dismantling the sidewalks of your CC sets? :pir_bawling:

I have found that a hard guitar plectrum is just the thing. Being made of a similar material, it does not scratch the bricks and makes it super easy to get them off the board.

Have fun!

Nice piece of information, but erm... why not simply use the brick separator? Its lower lip is meant precisely for that and through the years I haven't found anything capable of removing tiles easier than that.

I've never figured out how to use the brick separator to get tiles off a board. It's great with bricks and plates though. Perhaps I didn't read the instruction manual properly

Well, just put it on top of the tiles as if you were trying to separate actual plates from the baseplate. Then push down as you normally would (or perhaps a tad bit harder) and you'll notice that the lower lip of the separator pushes the tiles up just about enough for them to come off... It's very fast, especially seeing as most of the times you'll be able to take off two 1x1 tiles in one move :)

You're right, it works! Cool, thanks for that.

I've never used the brick separator to get tiles off, only guitar picks, as said here, and in this thread.

I just tried it though, and although it didn't fling the pieces half-way across the room like a guitar pick does, it made a sick snapping sound. I don't think it sounds very good for the pieces, but that doesn't mean I won't use it some other time.
