Nah, not really. A DH-bike is close to two meters long. So not that big, but maybe a bit as you say. Hm...

When I first saw these images some years ago I went all giddy before I realized it was a customization. Thought this was old news in here but apparently not. :) Back when I saw them I was in LEGO-hibernation, but the "photos" made me wake up a little.

Indeed this pictures have been around for some years now, but I don't think they have been posted in the MCW ever. They seem good inspiration sources for real customs, though.
