As you may know by having see these two topics in the MCW (purist custom minifigs) and Other themes forum (P-40 Warhawk plane), I'm currently working on a series of customs and MOCs based on the sci-fi liberty-styled film of which in the title of this topic.

Here I want to introduce you my latest, and more sci-fi oriented, MOCs on this theme.

Fisrt off we have the long-limbed thin-chested robot from the American base attack scene:

longrobot_002.jpg

Isn't it a beauty? you have to wander how can it walk on those legs, without getting unbalenced by his long arms, especially when lifting some weight, like Dex's body!

Film pic for comparison

Here you can see its height compared to a human/MF

Now to the flying robot from the Tutenkopf's missil base/cavern:

Take a look at the film's version

flybot2.jpg

I quite like how I reproduce it's look

And finally, the flying platform thing, agian from the Tutenkopf's missil base/cavern:

I wandered how this thing could work, and not liking the anti-gravity idea, I came to the conclusion it has some sort of electro-magnet which interacts with its metallic surroundings and the Earth's magnetic field. By modulating the power, you can go up and down, and you can move forward, backward and sideways by shifting on and through the field lines.

Here is a scene from the film (Crowbar item from BrickForge):

You can see on BS more pics of the Long-limbs and Flying robots as vell as of the Flying Platform.

We close with a comparison pic of the two robots

Hope you like them. Comments and critics are welcome.

Very nice 'LuxorV' very nice indeed !

AWESOME copies of those robots, can't wait to the rest of them including the ones that steal the power generators from under the city street.

How about the giant British Air Ships that launch those underwater fighter planes eh ?

Great work and I'm a conformist! 'LuxorV' I'm a conformist! ! :sweet:

Thank you, lightningtiger. I'm currently working on the British airplane carrier, gathered the reference screenshots and ready to try a couple of solution for micro or mid scale first (I don't think I have enough bricks for a full scale version right now :sceptic: ).

Indeed, thank you Izzy! I had to work a bit on the 'neck', to get it bulky enough, and the choice of piece for the head. I'm quite pleased with what I got in the end :classic:

If anyone is interested, I can put the LDD versions of these three MOCs on BS.

I saw this movie quite a while ago, and when I first saw your robot, I was trying to place it, and then you posted the actual picture too. I think you did a great job with the arms. The plane looks great too, are those custom stickers or was that done in Photoshop?

Very, very/i] nice MOCs you've got there LuxorV!

Thanks both :classic:

@ Big Cam - you can refer to the link provided at the beginning of the first post (which I edited for clearness) to see the P-40 Warhawk topic. Btw, that's a Photoshop-ed image, no decals used for that model.

For all those interested, I did not forget about these MOCs, and today I finally show you the most recent one. It has been sitting (well, standing  ) on my shelf for about one month now (yes, I've been lazy and never got around to take the pictures  ).

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce the Big One, the huge robot which attacks the town generators at the beginning of the film!

skyc_bigbot_000.jpg

(again, no stickers were used; what you see, apart from the model itself, was made via Photoshop)

The scale is not 1:1 with the rest of the MOCs in this series, but it his half scale, as the feet should be as big as a (police) car*.

(* see the film to check)

More picture can be found in this BrickShelf gallery (sorry about the not so perfect quality of some; we had a couple of cloudy week-end in here, and I could not get good lighting  ).

Hope you like it. Comments and critics are welcome :classic:

These are all really nice , my favorite is the giant robot.

I really liked that movie when i first seen it . I tried building one of those giant robots that were seen near the beginning but that was when i was still a rainbow warrior so i didn't have much luck.

Spot on again 'LuxorV' - AWESOME monster robot, but you forgot the generators they steal from the city streets.

I'm a conformist! ! :sweet:
