CaptSteve Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 (edited) So this is what I have done on my second MOC so far, waiting on some bricks so I can get going on the rest of it. Its going to be 8 hull sections long with a 20 or 18 cannon broadside. It will have one gun deck and a top deck. I plan on having the center of the top deck open to give a view of the gun deck below and to access the small cargo hold I'm going to build below that. The stern of this ship contains an officers mess on the gun deck level and then two officer cabins and the captains cabin above that. That captains cabin comes complete with an organ, an idea I stole from the new Imperial Flagship kit. The poop deck has the helm and also three hatches that swing open to give you access to the cabins below. Let me know what you think Edited March 26, 2010 by CaptSteve Quote

Erdbeereis Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Looking good! Could you please resize your pictures to a maximum of 800 x 600? right now they're over 200 pixels, which can take a while to load. Thanks! Quote
Fires-storm Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 A very beautiful ship so far mate, can't wait to see how she turns out! Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 You've made a great ship already, I like the tumblehome and the overall look of it. The stern looks great, but it's quite high too. I keep an eye on this thread, since it looks quite promising! Keep it up! Quote
Captain Becker Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 great start CaptSteve i think at the ship stern is too high indeed like Cpt. Blackmoore said. Keep it up mate, i will keep this on eye Captain Becker Quote
CaptSteve Posted March 27, 2010 Author Posted March 27, 2010 (edited) Here's a quick fix I did on the stern, will probably change it again, any suggestions anyone, I also included a close up pic of the helm and the stairs leading up to it, the double doors between the stairs lead to a little hallway with 3 doors that open into the 2 officers cabins and the captains cabin. the_green_avenger Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 Since you have such a large stern, you'll want the foremast to be quite a ways forward. As well you ought to move the main mast forward a couple studs to give more room for the mizzenmast. Quote
CaptSteve Posted March 28, 2010 Author Posted March 28, 2010 How is this for the mast placement? Quote
Captain Becker Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 At me those mast are quite right place, you are doing great, keep it up mate, keep it up. Captain Becker Quote
Skulls_Eye_Schooner_Sailor Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 That is just awesome, man! I can't wait to see it finished! Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Mast placement is ideal! Your stern has improved a lot, and it fits nice with the ship's line now. The mast length looks good too, and so does the bow. Keep it up! Quote
CaptSteve Posted April 4, 2010 Author Posted April 4, 2010 Major Constructions are now complete, now I just need to do some detailing, as well as the rigging and any other outfitting, below are shots of the interior of the captains cabin as well as the cargo hold located below the gun deck. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to build a large anchor, i have the lego anchor but i think its to small. I'm also looking for any suggestions I can get concerning the sail plan. Thanks all. Captain Becker Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Looks nice at me , about the anchor, i guess at that LEGO anchor would be a bit too small indeed but havent no idea how to build it in LEGO`s . But the ship what you are building is looking good at this point. Keep it up Captain Becker Quote
the_green_avenger Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Admiral Bejuane's Sang Royale has a nice anchor... Quote
