lightningtiger Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 (edited) I thought this morning I should layout my shopping/business district of my town or what I have so far with some road plates street lights and an Australian 'Give Way' sign ! Hot babe going to work - cheeky truck driver has a grin from ear to ear ! Here's my soon to famous Aussie 'Give Way' sign.........wait to you see the speed limit, no parking and all the road work signs ! Finally a shot up the street looking at the post office right up to the Mensland/Sportspower store. Comments are very welcome, as to sugestions are quite welcome as well ! I'm a conformist! everyone ! Edited April 4, 2010 by TheBrickster Quote
prateek Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 That store is the best part of this scene now! Just a suggestion, instead of making new topics each time you update something, you should post it in the old topic as an update, like many other EB town builders do. Quote

Thanks 'prateek' for your kind reply , I normally do update old, but this had quite a few changes in it and there are more to come, so from now on any street shots will appear here with the roads etc.,. lightningtiger Posted March 11, 2010 Author Posted March 11, 2010 Thanks 'The Brickster' for your reply, it's only going to get bigger with a pub, supermarket, car/tractor dealership, cargo handling area and truck stop. So I even think I'm half way yet ! I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
BlueBard Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Wonderful little display, really! The "background" goes great with Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 11, 2010 Author Posted March 11, 2010 Thank you very much 'BlueBard' for kind words. Yes, I took the photos in a local park near my home - handy eh ? I'm a conformist! ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 4, 2010 Author Posted April 4, 2010 (edited) I went nuts today - well not crazy, but set up what I have of my town (minus medical clinic and yet to be started pub and supermaket), so here we go....... As you can see it is only going to get bigger, the riverbank and train line/station and a factory is yet to come too ! Looks like the BP might just have to pass itself off as a roadhouse in the short term, note the phone box relocation. Yep, and my one and only front paged MOC, Bridgestone Select - note the curve plate might make way for a T junction to go the pub, supermarket and medical clinic....whew......I'm not done yet ! try Mitre 10 the hardware men....oops sorry people ! A view of Mensland corner, a street light is being repaired. Yeah, a more street level view of Mensland corner......man, I getting tired ! One of the four entry points into New Mannum by road, note the 50Km/hr limit - stick to it ! Another view of the main street, you may have noticed I need more road plate - yes I'll be trying to get some a.s.a.p. ! Yep, that's the hardware store - I like it too ! Comments welcome and I'm a conformist! ! Edited April 4, 2010 by lightningtiger Quote
I Scream Clone Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 You town is all coming together nicely lightning, great job. All the decals are looking great too. Any plans for some greenery? Keep up the good work. Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 4, 2010 Author Posted April 4, 2010 Thank you 'ISC' for your reply, kind words thank you again. Greenery, yes.....like I wrote I need more road plates so with that I can have a large traffic island with plants (flowers & shrubs). Many Aussie country towns have their town centre to one side of the highway so hence this large traffic island will seperate most of said town centre from the main road in and out of New Mannum. legofan Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 WOW! Lighting Tiger, i cannot tell you how much i love your town/ city! It's so sweet! It has everything a town needs; pub, clinic, stores, hot-babes!! Really love your MOC stores and houses! I like that phone booth! Place where Superman can transform.. Very beautifully made! Not to forget the use of personalised decals! Sweet! Thanks for sharing and hope to see your town/ city expand even more! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 4, 2010 Author Posted April 4, 2010 Thanks 'legofan' for your very nice reply , I am very glad you like my little town.....well it won't be little for much longer.....I have started work on the pub now. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
FixBayonets! Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 That's great! I think your town could use a few more vehicles and minifigures. The scene looks kind of empty. Quote
prateek Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Awesome! The service station looks really nice in your town. Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 4, 2010 Author Posted April 4, 2010 Thank you 'prateek' and 'FixBayonets!' for your kind words. Now more vehicles are planned, more people too, as I said before greenery, roads, more buildings etc., this will always be a W.I.P., because any town in whole always changes so might mine. lightningtiger Posted April 5, 2010 Author Posted April 5, 2010 Looking good, lightning tiger. I think you have a town plan. How do you manage to have all sunny days for your pics? Thanks 'dr_spock' - yeah I do have a town plan ! Sunny days, keeping dark clouds away, I'm on way to where the air is free.........alright enough of that ! Yeah, the tail of summer is still shaking in April ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
sens1992 Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I have a feeling someone has already done a Tim Hortons, but hey go the TIGER ! I'm a conformist! ! Yeah, I saw one Tim Hortons before too. I just wanted to build something like this where it is more like an "express" Tim Hortons with double drive thru. I will keep you posted! http://www.flickr.com/photos/steve-brandon/212198451/ Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 GREAT job Tiger-- couldn't help but notice that there are no straight-outta-the-box sets here, only MOCs and/or altered designs. Is this by design-- do you only use MOCs in your town display? Or did you just choose to not set up the standard issue sets alongside your original creations for these pics? Quote
Ratshot Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 (edited) Your city is looking great. Were did you take the pics at, the park? well, I have been thinking of building a Tim Hortons for some time.
