MrBrick&BoB Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Hi there Here you can see my newest Moc. It is the Westgate of Grimmhavn and the 1. Reichstraße in one big diorama. It was shown at a model-construction exhibit in Berlin, germany. The whole surface is 4x4 48ér plates big and about 20000 stones were obstructed. So, here we go... At THE BRICK TIME and at our Flickr gallery you can find some more pics. This is it. Bye Quote
Sir Dillon Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Impressive build! The gate itself looks great, and so do the inner houses and the coast line. Did you have to take apart the original Grimmhavn to build this? Quote
Alex the Great Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Another great MOC BrickTime, I really love that gate and the village inside. Is this an evolution of Grimmhavn? Quote
L-space Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Truly amazing guys. Love the amount of detail on the wall and buildings. Quote
MrBrick&BoB Posted March 6, 2010 Author Posted March 6, 2010 Jeep, it is an evolution of Grimmhavn. And, no. The whole "old Grimmhavn" was completely disassembled. Quote
Alex the Great Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 And, no. The whole "old Grimmhavn" was completely disassembled. Really, that's quite impressive to build it again with the evolution. Yet you can still see how it was before, kudos! Quote
xilefsson Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Jeep, it is an evolution of Grimmhavn. And, no. The whole "old Grimmhavn" was completely disassembled. in your blog you wrote that this is an other part of grimmhavn, not an evolution of the older one. So what is it now? Quote
gratefulnat Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 I've been following your work for a number of years, mostly through the BrickTime, and have very often been so impressed. I must say I really like this coastal line, and as my parents live on an island in Ireland, I can nearly here the roar of the waves looking at this. If you could find a way to make the water/waves more 3-dimensional when they break along the coast (and I certainly don't know how), the scene would be even more perfect. We'd be able to taste the salt and feel the breeze through our computers. Nathaniel Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 AWESOME - 'MrBrick&Bob' - totally awesome ! Great gate house - beautiful stonework and details - fantastic waves crashing against the rocks ! Excellent design and build 'MrBrick&Bob' - I'm a conformist! - really I'm a conformist! ! Quote
MrBrick&BoB Posted March 7, 2010 Author Posted March 7, 2010 @ xilefsson Its both. In First, this here is "West"-part of Grimmhavn. But not just another part, also the evolution. Because several years have past and things have change. New Weapons, new engineering technology. So, if i had the parts, i would built the "East" part again, but in fact of these things it would me look different. Quote
