I bought a large lot of LEGO mixed in with MB and mis other items. I've been weeding out the MB and mis. Included were several instruction booklets for the LEGO as well as minifigures. Some of the parts and figures match certain sets. I haven't finished sorting enough to know if I have any complete sets. I'm still trying to put what pieces I come across into individual bags with matching instructions and figures.

What I'm wondering is for example should I sell Leia with Jabba as they are from the same set and Greedo with the Dewback as they are from the same set or sell them individual?

I have most of the figures including Greedo and the Dewback. I'm now looking into how much of the actual set I have. I also have parts from Jabba's Palace. Jabba, Leia and I'm not sure yet how much of that set as well. I'm not big into Star Wars at this time so will be trading these off for Castle, Pirate, City...etc Or selling them in general . What I'm wanting to know is will getting as much of these sets together as possible bring me the most money/trade or will doing it separately ?

Sorry if this was in the wrong area. As I'm just looking for advice I wasn't sure which area to post it in.

Thanks a bunch.

I'm a little confused.

You either own the set or you don't. Are you saying you are going to piece together a set to sell it, do you own it and you have misplaced some of the pieces??

I'm just trying to figure out if you own the fig's and are trying to put together the set to get more money, or if you have the sets, but are missing pieces?

I can see where you would have gotten confused. I didn't explain myself very well. I edited and hope that makes more sense.

Thank you for your reply

You might want to do a little research yourself. Look at the average used selling price for both sets on Bricklink.com, and compare that to the average selling price of each minifig. I would suspect that selling the complete set is worth more than the price of the minifigs, but I could be wrong. Of course, this assumes that the sets are indeed complete. Otherwise, minifigs only will be your best bet.

Another consideration is whether or not you could use the bricks for your own MOCs. If you can, then selling the minifigs alone would make much more sense. I know I could always use a few hundred spare bricks in my collection.

Personally I'd put each fig up for sale on their own. I rarely see multiple fig's for sale as a group on bricklink.

Then if you don't want parts, I'd also put them up individually, it doesn't get you a ton of money fast, but it's the best way to go about it IMO.

Ultimately I'd prefer to trade for what I'm looking for. Seems to be the only way I'm going to get the older sets I've missed out on. I hate playing catch up! I thought about bricklink but it seems like there are already many of the same thing on there. I might try a few items on there and see how I do. I just want to enjoy this hobby. It'd be nice if I could find a way for it to pay for itself. I'm so inspired by the mocs that I have seen here. I just don't have enough bricks yet to do anything major. I'll get there.
