SlyOwl Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 She watched the last star falling... Slightly bigger pics here I'm not that happy with the photography - had to do it with tablelamps, as it's snowing Quote
Andre1983nl Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 These pictures are better then mine Nice MOC Quote
Ratshot Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 (edited) Looks great SlyOwl, especially the crooked wall. (Are those meat hooks for torturing prisoners? ) Could you provide me with a close up of that cannon on the dock please? Edited February 23, 2010 by Ratshot Quote
I Scream Clone Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Really nice work on the fort Sly! It is annoying to try and get the best photos in poor lighting, but this still is fantastic. Am I right in guessing that the birds inside the fort consist of a gear stick, minifig hand, two tooth plates and a round plate? Nice work on the dungeon, hay for the horse, gallows, lamps, dock etc. Quote
CMP Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Simple but nice. Finally found a good use for that Ewok Glider. Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Very great MOC! I like the rough sea and the boat on it. I'd like to see a very stormy background on this one Anyway, good job Quote
Big Cam Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Wow, great job with the dul layer wall. I love the overhang, that'd be hard to pull off. I like the multi-leveled water too, it really gives a wave effect. Quote
Alex the Great Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Very well done, I like the waves a lot since I'm use to seeing you use SNOT for water. The wall looks really difficult to do, don't worry the pictures are still better than I can do. Quote
Fires-storm Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Wow, amazing job, I love all the little details, especially the rough sea with the boat. Just perfect Quote
Erdbeereis Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 That looks really great Sly. How did you get that curve going inwards like that? Quote
Thee Pirate Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Wow!!! Compliments on the following: The leaning wall, it messes with my eyes! Use of the Indiana Jones bag Building a 7 wide tower (that's something I usually avoid, I build in multiples of 2, but you've pulled it off superbly) Quote
Derfel Cadarn Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Great work mate, i was wondering when you were going to post another entry. The first thing that strikes me about this is the shape of the wall. Ive been toying with the same idea to try and make a more curved port, but ive done it a different way. Your have to let me know how you went about this. Looks great here though, and the lighting really adds to the effect. Theres the usuall great details all over this moc and i see you've gone for studded water again?, i have bad feeling im gonna regret my use of tiled water Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Looks really nice Sly! Though the underside of the wall looks more indented then the white round part above it? I look forward to see some more detailed pics, as your folder isn't public yet. WOW. Is that really all you have to say? Quote
Captain Becker Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 What should i say....... amazing, perfect, nicely detailed..... I just LOVE this MOC great work like always Slyowl Keep it up Captain Becker Quote
SlyOwl Posted February 24, 2010 Author Posted February 24, 2010 Thanks for the comments Looks great SlyOwl, especially the crooked wall. (Are those meat hooks for torturing prisoners? ) Could you provide me with a close up of that cannon on the dock please? Dunno about the meat hooks - they just seemed to fit! The cannon: Am I right in guessing that the birds inside the fort consist of a gear stick, minifig hand, two tooth plates and a round plate? I tried with said gearstick, but it didn't work with the toothplates; the two toothplates are held together with one mf hand, and the head is just balanced on; no feet. Simple but nice. Finally found a good use for that Ewok Glider. Or for a random part I bought cheap off BL! Consider this......... Thankye! I love the overhang, that'd be hard to pull off. It was actually easier to have the overlap, as the two walls are at different angles; connecting them flush would have been problematic as a gap would have been formed. How did you get that curve going inwards like that? Bracing! It's under a lot of pressure. Building a 7 wide tower (that's something I usually avoid, I build in multiples of 2, but you've pulled it off superbly) It was more of an accident that turned out nicely; I didn't think about the width of the tower when I started building it, just so long as it was square! Great work mate, i was wondering when you were going to post another entry. The first thing that strikes me about this is the shape of the wall. Ive been toying with the same idea to try and make a more curved port, but ive done it a different way. Your have to let me know how you went about this. Looks great here though, and the lighting really adds to the effect. Theres the usuall great details all over this moc and i see you've gone for studded water again?, i have bad feeling im gonna regret my use of tiled water This one just didn't want to be built! But one entry left, and then I'm done. Studded waves... I don't mind now I got 154 new 1x2 blue plates from PaB so much, but I still prefer SNOT. Though the underside of the wall looks more indented then the white round part above it?I look forward to see some more detailed pics, as your folder isn't public yet. The bottom wall is more curved, as I could use the bracing (above), which I couldn't do for the white wall (which also has a lesser curvature due to the overlap). More pics in the first post now. Ratshot Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Thanks for the pics of the cannon, I'll probably a couple tonight. Clever design Quote
Zorro Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I just love that cannon, but of course the entire fort is looking very realistic and detailed. Also the prison is one of my favourite parts. Thanks for sharing! Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 You are truely a master builder Sly! That fortress looks great with it's curved wall and amazing details! Those lamps on the docks are really nice. All the things going on in the fortress are interesting to look at. The curved wall looks like it's under pressure indeed! Perhaps funny to know my ship's bow exploded due the same kind of pressure... Anyway, you've outdone yourself again SlyOwl, you've done a great job. Quote
